8 My (A)Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so [a](B)prove to be My disciples. 9 Just as (C)the Father has loved Me, I also have loved you; remain in My love. 10 (D)If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love; just as (E)I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love. 11 (F)These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your (G)joy may be made full.

12 “This is (H)My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. 13 (I)Greater love has no one than this, that a person will (J)lay down his life for his friends. 14 You are My (K)friends if (L)you do what I command you. 15 No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, because (M)all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. 16 (N)You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and (O)bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that (P)whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you. 17 This (Q)I command you, that you love one another.

10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.
