^12 (A) Now I tell you to love each other, as I have loved you.

¹⁷ So I command you to love each other.

^23 (A) God wants us to have faith in his Son Jesus Christ and to love each other. This is also what Jesus taught us to do.

^5 (A) Dear friend, I am not writing to tell you and your children to do something you have not done before. I am writing to tell you to love each other, which is the first thing you were told to do.
