Jesus Comforts His Disciples

14 “^(A)Do not let your heart be troubled; ^[a]believe in God, believe also in Me. ² In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for ^(B)I go to prepare a place for you. ³ If I go and prepare a place for you, ^(C)I will come again and receive you to Myself, that ^(D)where I am, there you may be also.

²⁰ For ^(A)our ^[a]citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly ^(B)wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ;

¹⁵ For this we say to you ^(A)by the word of the Lord, that ^(B)we who are alive ^[a]and remain until ^(C)the coming of the Lord, will not precede ^(D)those who have fallen asleep. ¹⁶ For the Lord ^(E)Himself ^(F)will descend from heaven with a ^[b](G)shout, with the voice of ^(H)the archangel and with the ^(I)trumpet of God, and ^(J)the dead in Christ will rise first. ¹⁷ Then ^(K)we who are alive ^[c]and remain will be ^(L)caught up together with them ^(M)in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always ^(N)be with the Lord. ¹⁸ Therefore comfort one another with these words.

²² For ^(A)as in Adam all die, so also in ^[a]Christ all will be made alive. ²³ But each in his own order: Christ ^(B)the first fruits, after that ^(C)those who are Christ’s at ^(D)His coming,

⁵¹ Behold, I tell you a ^(A)mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be ^(B)changed, ⁵² in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for ^(C)the trumpet will sound, and ^(D)the dead will be raised ^[a]imperishable, and ^(E)we will be changed.
