¹⁸ “I’m not speaking about all of you; I know those I have chosen.^(A) But the Scripture^(B) must be fulfilled: ^(C) The one who eats my bread^[a] has raised his heel against me.^[b](D)

¹² While I was with them, I was protecting them by your name that you have given me. I guarded^(A) them and not one of them is lost, except the son of destruction,^[a] so that the Scripture^(B) may be fulfilled.^(C)

²⁴ So they said to one another, “Let’s not tear it, but cast lots for it, to see who gets it.” This happened that the Scripture^(A) might be fulfilled^(B) that says: They divided my clothes among themselves, and they cast lots for my clothing.^[a](C) This is what the soldiers did.
