²⁵ Those who love their life lose it, and those who hate their life in this world will keep it for eternal life.^(A)

³⁹ Those who find their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake will find it.^(A)

³³ Those who try to make their life secure will lose it, but those who lose their life will keep it.

³⁵ For those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake, and for the sake of the gospel,^[a] will save it.^(A)
