39 They tried again to take Him but He got out of their hands.
Jesus Goes to the Other Side of the Jordan River
40 Jesus went away to the other side of the Jordan River to the place where John was baptizing people. Jesus stayed there. 41 Many people came to Him and said, “John did no powerful work, but what John said about this Man is true.”

40 Then Jesus went back across the Jordan(C) to the place where John had been baptizing in the early days. There he stayed, 41 and many people came to him. They said, “Though John never performed a sign,(D) all that John said about this man was true.”(E)
