46 Nathanael said to him, (A)“Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.” 47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and said of him, “Behold, (B)an Israelite indeed, (C)in whom there is no deceit!” 48 Nathanael said to him, “How (D)do you know me?” Jesus answered him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” 49 Nathanael answered him, (E)“Rabbi, (F)you are the Son of God! You are the (G)King of Israel!” 50 Jesus answered him, “Because I said to you, ‘I saw you under the fig tree,’ do you believe? You will see greater things than these.” 51 And he said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you,[a] you will see (H)heaven opened, and (I)the angels of God ascending and descending on (J)the Son of Man.”

Many Samaritans Believe

39 Many of the Samaritans from that town(A) believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.”(B) 40 So when the Samaritans came to him, they urged him to stay with them, and he stayed two days. 41 And because of his words many more became believers.

42 They said to the woman, “We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the world.”(C)
