37 And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus. 38 And Jesus turned and saw them following, and *said to them, “What are you seeking?” They said to Him, “(A)Rabbi (which translated means Teacher), where are You staying?” 39 He *said to them, “Come, and you will see.” So they came and saw where He was staying, and they stayed with Him that day; it was about the [a]tenth hour. 40 (B)One of the two who heard John speak, and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. 41 He first *found his own brother Simon and *said to him, “We have found the (C)Messiah” (which translated means [b]Christ). 42 He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon the son of [c](D)John; you shall be called (E)Cephas” (which is translated [d](F)Peter).

43 (G)The next day He [e]decided to go to (H)Galilee, and He *found (I)Philip. And Jesus *said to him, (J)Follow Me.” 44 Now (K)Philip was from (L)Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. 45 (M)Philip *found (N)Nathanael and *said to him, “We have found Him of whom (O)Moses wrote in the Law, and (P)the prophets also wrote: Jesus (Q)the son of Joseph, from (R)Nazareth!”
