The Word Made Flesh

¹⁴ And ^(A)the Word ^(B)became flesh, and ^(C)dwelt among us; and ^(D)we saw His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of ^(E)grace and ^(F)truth.

²² So ^(A)the Jews were saying, “Surely He will not kill Himself, will He, since He says, ‘^(B)Where I am going, you cannot come’?” ²³ And He was saying to them, “^(C)You are from below, I am from above; ^(D)you are of this world, ^(E)I am not of this world. ²⁴ Therefore I said to you that you ^(F)will die in your sins; for unless you believe that ^[a](G)I am, ^(H)you will die in your sins.”

⁴ But when ^(A)the fullness of the time came, God sent His Son, ^(B)born of a woman, born ^(C)under ^[a]the Law, ⁵ so that He might redeem those who were under ^[b]the Law, that we might receive the adoption as ^(D)sons and daughters.

¹⁴ Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, ^(A)the ^[a]virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and she will name Him ^[b](B)Immanuel.

²⁰ But when he had thought this over, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “^(A)Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for ^[a]the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. ²¹ She will give birth to a Son; and ^(B)you shall name Him Jesus, for ^[b]He ^(C)will save His people from their sins.” ²² Now all this ^[c]took place so that what was ^(D)spoken by the Lord through ^[d]the prophet would be fulfilled: ²³ “^(E)Behold, the virgin will ^[e](F)conceive and give birth to a Son, and they shall name Him ^[f]Immanuel,” which translated means, “^(G)God with us.”
