13 who were born,(A) not of natural descent,[a] or of the will(B) of the flesh,(C) or of the will of man,[b] but of God.(D)

14 The Word(E) became flesh(F) and dwelt[c] among us. We observed his glory,(G) the glory as the one and only(H) Son[d] from the Father, full of grace and truth. 15 (John testified concerning him and exclaimed, “This was the one of whom I said, ‘The one coming after me(I) ranks ahead of me,(J) because he existed before me.’”)(K)

14 The Word became flesh(B) and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory,(C) the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace(D) and truth.(E)

15 (John testified(F) concerning him. He cried out, saying, “This is the one I spoke about when I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’”)(G)
