21 När Petrus fick se honom, frågade han Jesus: "Herre, hur blir det med honom?" 22 Jesus svarade: "Om jag vill att han skall vara kvar tills jag kommer, vad rör det dig? Följ du mig!" 23 Så kom det ryktet ut bland bröderna att den lärjungen inte skulle dö. Men Jesus hade inte sagt till honom att han inte skulle dö, utan: "Om jag vill att han skall vara kvar tills jag kommer, vad rör det dig?"

22 Men Jesus svarade: ”Om jag vill att han ska bli kvar tills jag kommer så rör det väl inte dig? Du ska bara följa mig!”
23 På grund av detta spreds ryktet bland de troende att den lärjungen inte skulle dö. Men Jesus sa aldrig till Petrus att den lärjungen inte skulle dö. Han sa bara: ”Om jag vill att han ska bli kvar tills jag kommer så rör det väl inte dig?”

You, follow me!” 23 Therefore the word spread among the brothers that that talmid would not die. However, Yeshua didn’t say he wouldn’t die, but simply, “If I want him to stay on until I come, what is it to you?”

But Jesus did not say that he would not die; he only said, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you?”
