⁸ and will come out ^(A)to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, ^(B)Gog and Magog, ^(C)to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea. ⁹ And ^(D)they marched up over the broad plain of the earth and surrounded ^(E)the camp of the saints and ^(F)the beloved city, but ^(G)fire came down from heaven^[a] and consumed them,

¹⁹ And I saw ^(A)the beast and the kings of the earth with their armies ^(B)gathered to make war against him who was sitting on the horse and against his army. ²⁰ And the beast was captured, and with it ^(C)the false prophet ^(D)who in its presence^[a] had done the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who ^(E)worshiped its image. These two were ^(F)thrown alive into the lake of ^(G)fire that burns with sulfur.

¹⁴ And the armies of heaven, ^(A)arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, ^(B)were following him on white horses.

¹⁴ For they are ^(A)demonic spirits, ^(B)performing signs, who go abroad to the kings of the whole world, ^(C)to assemble them for battle on ^(D)the great day of God the Almighty. ¹⁵ (“Behold, ^(E)I am coming like a thief! ^(F)Blessed is the one who stays awake, keeping his garments on, ^(G)that he may not go about naked and be seen exposed!”) ¹⁶ And ^(H)they assembled them at the place that in Hebrew is called ^(I)Armageddon.

⁷ and to grant ^(A)relief to you who are afflicted as well as to us, when ^(B)the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven ^(C)with his mighty angels

² For ^(A)I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and ^(B)the city shall be taken ^(C)and the houses plundered ^(D)and the women raped. ^(E)Half of the city shall go out into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be cut off from the city. ^3 (F)Then the Lord will go out and fight against those nations as when he fights on a day of battle.
