¹¹ The Lord utters his voice
    at the head of his army;
how vast is his host!
    Numberless are those who obey his command.
Truly the day of the Lord is great,
    terrible indeed—who can endure it?^(A)

⁸ therefore her plagues will come in a single day—
    pestilence and mourning and famine—
and she will be burned with fire,
    for mighty is the Lord God who judges her.”^(A)

⁷ Alas! that day is so great
    there is none like it;
it is a time of distress for Jacob,
    yet he shall be rescued from it.^(A)

⁶ The nations are in an uproar; the kingdoms totter;
    he utters his voice; the earth melts.^(A)

²⁰ Is not the day of the Lord darkness, not light,
    and gloom with no brightness in it?^(A)
