Rich Oppressors Will Be Judged

5 Come now, you ^(A)rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming upon you!

The Importance of Watching^(A)

³⁴ “But ^(B)take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with ^[a]carousing, drunkenness, and ^(C)cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. ³⁵ For ^(D)it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. ^36 (E)Watch therefore, and ^(F)pray always that you may ^[b]be counted ^(G)worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and ^(H)to stand before the Son of Man.”

Put on Christ

¹¹ And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time ^(A)to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. ¹² The night is far spent, the day is at hand. ^(B)Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and ^(C)let us put on the armor of light. ^13 (D)Let us walk ^[a]properly, as in the day, ^(E)not in revelry and drunkenness, ^(F)not in lewdness and lust, ^(G)not in strife and envy. ¹⁴ But ^(H)put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and ^(I)make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.

²³ And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

²⁴ “Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and ^(A)cool my tongue; for I ^(B)am tormented in this flame.’ ²⁵ But Abraham said, ‘Son, ^(C)remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented.
