^12 (A)The vine has dried up,
And the fig tree has withered;
The pomegranate tree,
The palm tree also,
And the apple tree—
All the trees of the field are withered;
Surely ^(B)joy has withered away from the sons of men.

¹¹ There is a cry for wine in the streets,
All joy is darkened,
The mirth of the land is gone.

¹⁷ Though the fig tree may not blossom,
Nor fruit be on the vines;
Though the labor of the olive may fail,
And the fields yield no food;
Though the flock may be cut off from the fold,
And there be no herd in the stalls—
¹⁸ Yet I will ^(A)rejoice in the Lord,
I will joy in the God of my salvation.

¹⁶ Is not the food ^(A)cut off before our eyes,
^(B)Joy and gladness from the house of our God?

¹⁰ The field is wasted,
^(A)The land mourns;
For the grain is ruined,
^(B)The new wine is dried up,
The oil fails.

9 Do^(A) not rejoice, O Israel, with joy like other peoples,
For you have played the harlot against your God.
You have made love for ^(B)hire on every threshing floor.
² The threshing floor and the winepress
Shall not feed them,
And the new wine shall fail in her.

^33 (A)Joy and gladness are taken
From the plentiful field
And from the land of Moab;
I have caused wine to ^[a]fail from the winepresses;
No one will tread with joyous shouting—
Not joyous shouting!
