God’s Spirit Poured Out

28 [a]Then afterward
    I will pour out my spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
    your old men shall dream dreams,
    and your young men shall see visions.(A)
29 Even on the male and female slaves,
    in those days I will pour out my spirit.(B)

30 I will show portents in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and columns of smoke.(C) 31 The sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes.(D) 32 Then everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved, for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be those who escape, as the Lord has said, and among the survivors shall be those whom the Lord calls.(E)

[b]For then, in those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem,(F) I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat, and I will enter into judgment with them there, on account of my people and my heritage Israel, because they have scattered them among the nations. They have divided my land(G) and cast lots for my people and traded boys for prostitutes and sold girls for wine and drunk it down.(H)

What are you to me, O Tyre and Sidon, and all the regions of Philistia? Are you paying me back for something? If you are paying me back, I will turn your deeds back upon your own heads swiftly and speedily.(I) For you have taken my silver and my gold and have carried my rich treasures into your temples.[c] You have sold the people of Judah and Jerusalem to the Greeks, removing them far from their own border. But now I will rouse them to leave the places to which you have sold them, and I will turn your deeds back upon your own heads.(J) I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the people of Judah, and they will sell them to the Sabeans, to a nation far away, for the Lord has spoken.(K)

30 I will show wonders in the heavens(G)
    and on the earth,(H)
    blood and fire and billows of smoke.

The Nations Judged

[b]“In those days and at that time,
    when I restore the fortunes(Q) of Judah(R) and Jerusalem,
I will gather(S) all nations
    and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat.[c](T)
There I will put them on trial(U)
    for what they did to my inheritance, my people Israel,
because they scattered(V) my people among the nations
    and divided up my land.
They cast lots(W) for my people
    and traded boys for prostitutes;
    they sold girls for wine(X) to drink.

“Now what have you against me, Tyre and Sidon(Y) and all you regions of Philistia?(Z) Are you repaying me for something I have done? If you are paying me back, I will swiftly and speedily return on your own heads what you have done.(AA) For you took my silver and my gold and carried off my finest treasures to your temples.[d](AB) You sold the people of Judah and Jerusalem to the Greeks,(AC) that you might send them far from their homeland.

“See, I am going to rouse them out of the places to which you sold them,(AD) and I will return(AE) on your own heads what you have done. I will sell your sons(AF) and daughters to the people of Judah,(AG) and they will sell them to the Sabeans,(AH) a nation far away.” The Lord has spoken.(AI)
