Respuesta de Job a Bildad
9 Entonces respondió Job y dijo:
2 En verdad yo sé que es así,
pero ¿cómo puede un hombre ser justo delante de[a] Dios(A)?
3 Si alguno quisiera contender con Él(B),
no podría contestarle ni una vez entre mil.
4 Sabio de corazón(C) y robusto de fuerzas(D),
¿quién le ha desafiado[b] sin sufrir daño[c](E)?
5 Él es el que remueve los montes, y estos no saben cómo
cuando los vuelca en su furor(F);
6 el que sacude la tierra de su lugar(G),
y sus columnas tiemblan(H);
7 el que manda al sol que no brille[d],
y pone sello a las estrellas(I);
8 el que solo extiende los cielos(J),
y holla[e] las olas del mar(K);
9 el que hace la Osa, el Orión y las Pléyades(L),
y las cámaras del sur(M);
10 el que hace grandes cosas, inescrutables[f],
y maravillas sin número(N).
11 Si Él pasara junto a mí, no le vería;
si me pasara adelante, no le percibiría(O).
12 Si Él arrebatara algo, ¿quién le estorbaría(P)?
Quién podrá decirle: «¿Qué haces(Q)?».
13 Dios no retirará su ira;
bajo Él quedan humillados los que ayudan a Rahab(R).
14 ¿Cómo puedo yo responderle[g](S),
y escoger mis palabras delante de[h] Él?
15 Porque aunque yo tuviera razón(T), no podría responder[i];
tendría que implorar la misericordia de mi juez(U).
16 Si yo llamara y Él me respondiera,
no podría creer que escuchara mi voz.
17 Porque Él me quebranta con tempestad,
y sin causa multiplica mis heridas(V).
18 No me permite cobrar aliento(W),
sino que me llena de amarguras(X).
19 Si es cuestión de poder, he aquí, Él es poderoso(Y);
y si es cuestión de justicia, ¿quién le[j] citará?
20 Aunque soy justo(Z), mi boca me condenará(AA);
aunque soy inocente[k], Él me declarará culpable.
21 Inocente soy(AB),
no hago caso de mí mismo,
desprecio mi vida(AC).
22 Todo es lo mismo, por tanto digo:
«El destruye al inocente y al malvado(AD)».
23 Si el azote mata de repente,
Él se burla de la desesperación del inocente(AE).
24 La tierra es entregada en manos de los impíos(AF);
Él cubre el rostro de sus jueces(AG);
si no es Él, ¿quién será?
25 Mis días son más ligeros que un corredor[l](AH);
huyen, no ven el bien(AI).
26 Se deslizan como barcos de juncos(AJ),
como águila que se arroja sobre su presa[m](AK).
27 Aunque yo diga: «Olvidaré mi queja(AL),
cambiaré mi triste semblante y me alegraré»,
28 temeroso(AM) estoy de todos mis dolores,
sé que tú no me absolverás(AN).
29 Si soy impío(AO),
¿para qué, pues, esforzarme en vano?
30 Si me lavara con nieve
y limpiara mis manos[n](AP) con lejía(AQ),
31 aun así me hundirías en la fosa,
y mis propios vestidos me aborrecerían.
32 Porque Él no es hombre(AR) como yo, para que le responda(AS),
para que juntos vengamos a juicio.
33 No hay árbitro entre nosotros(AT),
que ponga su mano sobre ambos.
34 Que Él quite de mí su vara,
y no me espante su terror(AU).
35 Entonces yo hablaré y no le temeré(AV);
porque en mi opinión[o] yo no soy así.

9 Bấy giờ Gióp trả lời:
2 “Phải, tôi biết điều đó đúng,
nhưng làm sao cho con người được vô tội trước mặt Thượng Đế?
3 Ai muốn cãi lý với Ngài cũng được
nhưng không ai đối đáp được với Ngài,
ngàn lần Ngài vẫn thắng.
4 Sự khôn ngoan của Ngài thật sâu sắc,
quyền năng Ngài bao la;
không ai chiến đấu với Ngài mà không bị tổn thương.
5 Ngài dời núi đi không ai hay biết,
lật nhào chúng trong cơn giận Ngài.
6 Ngài lay chuyển đất ra khỏi chỗ nó,
và khiến nền nó rúng động.
7 Ngài truyền cho mặt trời ngưng chiếu sáng,
và tắt các ánh sao.
8 Chỉ một mình Ngài trải các bầu trời ra,
và bước đi trên các lượn sóng biển.
9 Chính Ngài đã làm ra các sao Bắc đẩu, sao Cày, sao Rua, và chòm sao Nam Tào [a].
Ngài khiến các hành tinh băng qua nam bán cầu [b].
10 Ngài làm nhiều điều diệu kỳ không thể hiểu nổi;
và vô số các phép lạ không thể đếm được.
11 Khi Ngài vượt qua, tôi không thấy Ngài;
Khi Ngài đi ngang qua, tôi không nhận biết Ngài.
12 Khi Ngài giật lấy, không ai cản Ngài được
hay hỏi Ngài, ‘Chúa làm gì vậy?’
13 Ngài không kìm hãm cơn thịnh nộ.
Thậm chí các bề tôi của quái vật Ra-háp cũng nằm sóng sượt vì khiếp sợ dưới chân Ngài.
14 Cho nên làm sao tôi biện luận được với Thượng Đế,
hay tìm lời lẽ tranh luận với Ngài?
15 Dù cho có lý đi nữa, tôi cũng không thể trả lời Ngài;
Tôi chỉ có thể kêu xin lòng nhân ái của Thượng Đế, Quan Án tôi.
16 Nếu tôi kêu Ngài và Ngài trả lời,
tôi vẫn không tin Ngài chịu nghe tôi.
17 Ngài sẽ lấy cơn bão tố đè bẹp tôi
và thêm cho tôi nhiều thương tích vô cớ.
18 Ngài không cho tôi lấy hơi,
nhưng bao trùm tôi bằng khốn khổ.
19 Sức mạnh Ngài lớn hơn tôi;
không ai có thể cáo Ngài về sự công chính.
20 Dù cho tôi có lý đi nữa, miệng tôi sẽ bảo tôi sai lầm;
Dù cho tôi vô tội, miệng tôi sẽ nói tôi có tội.
21 Tôi vô tội nhưng tôi đâu dám nhận.
Tôi chán đời sống tôi.
22 Vì thế mà tôi nói, ‘Đằng nào cũng thế thôi.
Thượng Đế tiêu diệt người vô tội lẫn kẻ có tội.’
23 Khi tai ương mang đến chết chóc bất ngờ,
Thượng Đế sẽ cười trên đau khổ của người vô tội.
24 Khi xứ rơi vào tay kẻ gian ác,
thì Ngài bịt mắt các quan án, không cho họ thấy.
Nếu Thượng Đế không làm điều đó thì ai làm?
25 Những ngày tháng tôi qua mau hơn lực sĩ chạy đua;
bay đi không thấy có niềm vui nào.
26 Chúng lướt mau như thuyền lác.
Chúng bổ nhào như chim ưng vồ mồi.
27 Dù cho tôi nói, ‘Tôi sẽ không than van nữa;
tôi sẽ đổi sắc mặt và tươi cười,’
28 Tôi vẫn gớm ghê mọi đau khổ tôi.
Tôi biết Ngài cho rằng tôi có tội.
29 Vì tôi đã bị xem như có tội rồi,
cho nên cố gắng mà làm chi?
30 Dù tay tôi rửa bằng xà bông,
thân tôi tắm thật sạch sẽ,
31 Ngài sẽ vẫn đẩy tôi xuống hố nhơ nhớp [c],
thậm chí đến áo quần tôi
cũng gớm ghê tôi.
32 Thượng Đế không phải là
con người như tôi nên tôi không thể tranh luận với Ngài.
Tôi không thể đưa Ngài ra tòa.
33 Ước gì có ai giảng hoà giữa chúng tôi [d],
phân xử trường hợp chúng tôi.
34 Người đó có thể cất đi hình phạt của Thượng Đế
để sự kinh hoàng của Ngài
không làm tôi khiếp sợ nữa.
35 Lúc đó tôi sẽ nói lên mà không sợ sệt,
nhưng hiện nay tôi không làm như thế được.”

Job: There Is No Mediator
9 Then Job answered and said:
2 “Truly I know it is so,
But how can a (A)man be (B)righteous before God?
3 If one wished to [a]contend with Him,
He could not answer Him one time out of a thousand.
4 (C)God is wise in heart and mighty in strength.
Who has hardened himself against Him and prospered?
5 He removes the mountains, and they do not know
When He overturns them in His anger;
6 He (D)shakes the earth out of its place,
And its (E)pillars tremble;
7 He commands the sun, and it does not rise;
He seals off the stars;
8 (F)He alone spreads out the heavens,
And [b]treads on the [c]waves of the sea;
9 (G)He made [d]the Bear, Orion, and the Pleiades,
And the chambers of the south;
10 (H)He does great things past finding out,
Yes, wonders without number.
11 (I)If He goes by me, I do not see Him;
If He moves past, I do not perceive Him;

Who can say to Him, ‘What are You doing?’
13 God will not withdraw His anger,

14 “How then can I answer Him,
And choose my words to reason with Him?

I would beg mercy of my Judge.
16 If I called and He answered me,
I would not believe that He was listening to my voice.
17 For He crushes me with a tempest,
And multiplies my wounds (M)without cause.
18 He will not allow me to catch my breath,
But fills me with bitterness.
19 If it is a matter of strength, indeed He is strong;
And if of justice, who will appoint my day in court?
20 Though I were righteous, my own mouth would condemn me;
Though I were blameless, it would prove me perverse.
21 “I am blameless, yet I do not know myself;
I despise my life.
22 It is all one thing;
Therefore I say, (N)‘He destroys the blameless and the wicked.’
23 If the scourge slays suddenly,
He laughs at the plight of the innocent.
24 The earth is given into the hand of the wicked.
He covers the faces of its judges.
If it is not He, who else could it be?
25 “Now (O)my days are swifter than a runner;
They flee away, they see no good.
26 They pass by like [g]swift ships,
(P)Like an eagle swooping on its prey.
27 (Q)If I say, ‘I will forget my complaint,
I will put off my sad face and wear a smile,’
28 (R)I am afraid of all my sufferings;
I know that You (S)will not hold me innocent.
29 If I am condemned,
Why then do I labor in vain?
30 (T)If I wash myself with snow water,
And cleanse my hands with [h]soap,
31 Yet You will plunge me into the pit,
And my own clothes will [i]abhor me.
32 “For (U)He is not a man, as I am,
That I may answer Him,
And that we should go to court together.
33 (V)Nor is there any mediator between us,
Who may lay his hand on us both.
34 (W)Let Him take His rod away from me,
And do not let dread of Him terrify me.
35 Then I would speak and not fear Him,
But it is not so with me.

2 「不錯，我知道你所言不虛，
但人怎能在上帝面前算為義人？
3 人若想與祂辯駁，
千次也不能勝一次。
4 祂充滿智慧，能力無比，
誰能抗拒祂還可平安無恙？
5 祂可猝然挪動群山，
在怒氣中把山翻倒。
6 祂震動大地，使其挪位，
以致地的支柱搖撼。
7 祂一聲令下，
太陽便不再升起，
眾星也不再發光。
8 祂獨自鋪展穹蒼，
步行在海浪之上。
9 祂創造了北斗星、參星、昴星及南天的星座。
10 祂行的奇事不可測度，
奇蹟不可勝數。
11 祂經過我身旁，我卻看不見；
祂從旁邊掠過，我也無法察覺。
12 祂若奪取，誰能阻擋？
誰敢問祂，『你做什麽？』

純全無過的人和惡人都會被祂毀滅。
