⁷ He speaks to the sun and it does not shine;^(A)
    he seals off the light of the stars.^(B)

¹⁰ The stars of heaven and their constellations
    will not show their light.^(A)
The rising sun^(B) will be darkened^(C)
    and the moon will not give its light.^(D)

“I will make the sun go down at noon
    and darken the earth in broad daylight.^(A)

“‘the sun will be darkened,
    and the moon will not give its light;
the stars will fall from the sky,
    and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’^[a](A)

¹³ He who forms the mountains,^(A)
    who creates the wind,^(B)
    and who reveals his thoughts^(C) to mankind,
who turns dawn to darkness,
    and treads on the heights of the earth^(D)—
    the Lord God Almighty is his name.^(E)

³⁵ All the peoples of the earth
    are regarded as nothing.^(A)
He does as he pleases^(B)
    with the powers of heaven
    and the peoples of the earth.
No one can hold back^(C) his hand^(D)
    or say to him: “What have you done?”^(E)

⁷ When I snuff you out, I will cover the heavens
    and darken their stars;
I will cover the sun with a cloud,
    and the moon will not give its light.^(A)
8 All the shining lights in the heavens
    I will darken^(B) over you;
    I will bring darkness over your land,^(C)
declares the Sovereign Lord.

    And where does darkness reside?^(A)
20 Can you take them to their places?
