¹⁹ See, these are their happy ways,^[a]
    and out of the earth still others will spring.

⁵ that the exulting of the wicked is short
    and the joy of the godless is but for a moment?^(A)

⁷ He raises the poor from the dust
    and lifts the needy from the ash heap,

⁸ He raises up the poor from the dust;
    he lifts the needy from the ash heap
to make them sit with princes
    and inherit a seat of honor.
For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s,
    and on them he has set the world.^(A)

²⁴ All the trees of the field shall know
    that I am the Lord.
I bring low the high tree;
    I make high the low tree;
I dry up the green tree
    and make the dry tree flourish.
I the Lord have spoken;
    I will accomplish it.^(A)

⁷ but it is God who executes judgment,
    putting down one and lifting up another.^(A)
