7 El ser humano cumple un servicio en la tierra,
son sus días los de un jornalero;
2 como el esclavo, busca la sombra;
como el jornalero, espera su salario.
3 Yo he heredado meses baldíos,
me han asignado noches de agobio.
4 Me acuesto y pienso: ¿cuándo me levantaré?
La noche se alarga sin medida
y me harto de dar vueltas hasta el alba;
5 mi cuerpo está cubierto de gusanos y costras,
la piel se me rasga y supura.
6 Corren mis días con toda rapidez,
se consumen, vacíos de esperanza.
7 Recuerda que mi vida es un soplo,
que mis ojos no verán ya la dicha.
8 Los ojos que me ven no me verán,
me buscarás con la mirada y no estaré.
9 Igual que nube que pasa y se disipa
es el que baja al reino de los muertos;
ya no volverá a subir;
10 ya no regresará a su casa,
ni su morada lo reconocerá.
11 Así que no pondré freno a mi lengua,
hablará mi espíritu angustiado,
me quejaré henchido de amargura.
12 ¿Soy acaso el Mar o el Dragón
para que tú me pongas un guardián?
13 Cuando pienso que el lecho será mi alivio,
que la cama adormecerá mis gemidos,
14 entonces me aterras con sueños,
entonces me atemorizas con pesadillas.
15 Preferiría morir asfixiado;
antes la muerte que vivir así.
16 ¡Qué más da! Si no viviré para siempre,
déjame en paz; mis días son un soplo.
17 ¿Qué es el ser humano para que de él te ocupes,
para que te muestres interesado por él,
18 para que le pases revista por la mañana
y a cada instante lo examines?
19 ¿Por qué no dejas de vigilarme?
¡Ni tragar saliva me permites!
20 Si he pecado, ¿en qué te afecta,
Vigía de los humanos?
¿Por qué me conviertes en tu blanco
y me has considerado tu carga?
21 ¿Por qué no perdonas mi culpa
y pasas por alto mi ofensa?
Pues pronto me acostaré en el polvo;
me buscarás, pero ya no estaré.

他有生之年岂不像个雇工吗？
2 他像切望阴凉的奴隶，
又如盼望报酬的雇工。
3 同样，我注定要度过虚空的岁月，
熬过悲惨的黑夜。
4 我躺在床上，想着何时起来。
长夜漫漫，我辗转难眠，直到拂晓。
5 我身上布满蛆虫、伤疤，
皮肤破裂，流脓不止。
6 我的年日飞逝，比梭还快，
转眼结束，毫无盼望。
7 “上帝啊，别忘了我的生命不过是一口气，
我再也看不见幸福。
8 注视我的眼睛将再也看不见我，
你将寻找我，而我已不复存在。
9 人死后一去不返，
就像烟消云散；
10 他永不再返回家园，
故土也不再认识他。
11 “因此我不再缄默不语，
我要吐露胸中的悲愁，
倾诉心里的苦楚。
12 上帝啊，我岂是大海，岂是海怪，
值得你这样防范我？
13 我以为床铺是我的安慰，
卧榻可解除我的哀愁，
14 你却用噩梦惊我，
用异象吓我，
15 以致我宁愿窒息而死，
也不愿这样活着。
16 我厌恶生命，不想永活。
不要管我，因为我的日子都是虚空。
17 “人算什么，你竟这样看重他，
这样关注他？
18 你天天早上察看他，
时时刻刻考验他。
19 你的视线何时离开我，
给我咽口唾沫的时间？
20 鉴察世人的主啊，
我若犯了罪，又于你何妨？
为何把我当成你的箭靶？
难道我成了你的重担？
21 为何不赦免我的过犯，
饶恕我的罪恶？
我很快将归于尘土，
你将寻找我，

7 “Do not mortals have hard service(A) on earth?(B)
Are not their days like those of hired laborers?(C)
2 Like a slave longing for the evening shadows,(D)
or a hired laborer waiting to be paid,(E)
3 so I have been allotted months of futility,
and nights of misery have been assigned to me.(F)
4 When I lie down I think, ‘How long before I get up?’(G)
The night drags on, and I toss and turn until dawn.(H)
5 My body is clothed with worms(I) and scabs,
my skin is broken and festering.(J)
6 “My days are swifter than a weaver’s shuttle,(K)
and they come to an end without hope.(L)
7 Remember, O God, that my life is but a breath;(M)
my eyes will never see happiness again.(N)
8 The eye that now sees me will see me no longer;
you will look for me, but I will be no more.(O)
9 As a cloud vanishes(P) and is gone,
so one who goes down to the grave(Q) does not return.(R)
10 He will never come to his house again;
his place(S) will know him no more.(T)
11 “Therefore I will not keep silent;(U)
I will speak out in the anguish(V) of my spirit,

that you put me under guard?(AA)
13 When I think my bed will comfort me
and my couch will ease my complaint,(AB)
14 even then you frighten me with dreams

15 so that I prefer strangling and death,(AE)

17 “What is mankind that you make so much of them,

18 that you examine them every morning(AL)

20 If I have sinned, what have I done to you,(AQ)
you who see everything we do?
Why have you made me your target?(AR)
Have I become a burden to you?[a](AS)
21 Why do you not pardon my offenses
