    Why have you made me your target?
    Why have I become a burden to you?^(A)

⁶ Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains;
    your judgments are like the great deep;
    you save humans and animals alike, O Lord.^(A)

²⁴ For my sighing comes like^[a] my bread,
    and my groanings are poured out like water.^(A)

¹² For you will put them to flight;
    you will aim at their faces with your bows.^(A)

⁶ If you have sinned, what do you accomplish against him?
    And if your transgressions are multiplied, what do you do to him?^(A)

²⁷     That person sings to others and says,
‘I sinned and perverted what was right,
    and it was not paid back to me.^(A)

⁹ You say, ‘I am clean, without transgression;
    I am pure, and there is no iniquity in me.^(A)
