¹⁷ “Blessed is the one whom God corrects;^(A)
    so do not despise the discipline^(B) of the Almighty.^[a](C)

²⁴ Whoever spares the rod^(A) hates their children,
    but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline^(B) them.^(C)

“My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline,
    and do not lose heart^(A) when he rebukes you,
⁶ because the Lord disciplines the one he loves,^(B)
