Respuesta de Job
42 Job respondió entonces al Señor. Le dijo:
2 «Yo sé bien que tú lo puedes todo,
que no es posible frustrar ninguno de tus planes.
3 “¿Quién es este —has preguntado—,
que sin conocimiento oscurece mi consejo?”
Reconozco que he hablado de cosas
que no alcanzo a comprender,
de cosas demasiado maravillosas
que me son desconocidas.
4 »Dijiste:[a] “Ahora escúchame, yo voy a hablar;
yo te cuestionaré, y tú me responderás”.
5 De oídas había oído hablar de ti,
pero ahora te veo con mis propios ojos.
6 Por tanto, me retracto de lo que he dicho,
y me arrepiento en polvo y ceniza».
Epílogo
7 Después de haberle dicho todo esto a Job, el Señor se dirigió a Elifaz de Temán y le dijo: «Estoy muy irritado contigo y con tus dos amigos porque, a diferencia de mi siervo Job, lo que vosotros habéis dicho de mí no es verdad. 8 Tomad ahora siete toros y siete carneros, e id con mi siervo Job y ofreced un holocausto por vosotros mismos. Mi siervo Job orará por vosotros, y yo atenderé a su oración y no os haré quedar en vergüenza. Y conste que, a diferencia de mi siervo Job, lo que vosotros habéis dicho de mí no es verdad».
9 Elifaz de Temán, Bildad de Súah y Zofar de Namat fueron y cumplieron con lo que el Señor les había ordenado, y el Señor atendió a la oración de Job.
10 Después de haber orado Job por sus amigos, el Señor lo hizo prosperar de nuevo y le dio dos veces más de lo que antes tenía. 11 Todos sus hermanos y hermanas, y todos los que antes lo habían conocido, fueron a su casa y celebraron con él un banquete. Lo animaron y lo consolaron por todas las calamidades que el Señor le había enviado, y cada uno de ellos le dio una moneda de plata[b] y un anillo de oro.
12 El Señor bendijo más los últimos años de Job que los primeros, pues llegó a tener catorce mil ovejas, seis mil camellos, mil yuntas de bueyes y mil asnas. 13 Tuvo también catorce[c] hijos y tres hijas. 14 A la primera de ellas le puso por nombre Paloma, a la segunda la llamó Canela, y a la tercera, Linda.[d] 15 No había en todo el país mujeres tan bellas como las hijas de Job. Su padre les dejó una herencia, lo mismo que a sus hermanos.
16 Después de estos sucesos, Job vivió ciento cuarenta años. Llegó a ver a sus hijos, y a los hijos de sus hijos, hasta la cuarta generación. 17 Disfrutó de una larga vida y murió en plena ancianidad.

Confesión y justificación de Job
42 Respondió Job a Jehová, y dijo:
2 Yo conozco que todo lo puedes,
Y que no hay pensamiento que se esconda de ti.
3 ¿Quién es el que oscurece el consejo sin entendimiento?(A)
Por tanto, yo hablaba lo que no entendía;
Cosas demasiado maravillosas para mí, que yo no comprendía.
4 Oye, te ruego, y hablaré;
Te preguntaré, y tú me enseñarás.(B)
5 De oídas te había oído;
Mas ahora mis ojos te ven.
6 Por tanto me aborrezco,
Y me arrepiento en polvo y ceniza.
7 Y aconteció que después que habló Jehová estas palabras a Job, Jehová dijo a Elifaz temanita: Mi ira se encendió contra ti y tus dos compañeros; porque no habéis hablado de mí lo recto, como mi siervo Job. 8 Ahora, pues, tomaos siete becerros y siete carneros, e id a mi siervo Job, y ofreced holocausto por vosotros, y mi siervo Job orará por vosotros; porque de cierto a él atenderé para no trataros afrentosamente, por cuanto no habéis hablado de mí con rectitud, como mi siervo Job. 9 Fueron, pues, Elifaz temanita, Bildad suhita y Zofar naamatita, e hicieron como Jehová les dijo; y Jehová aceptó la oración de Job.
Restauración de la prosperidad de Job
10 Y quitó Jehová la aflicción de Job, cuando él hubo orado por sus amigos; y aumentó al doble todas las cosas que habían sido de Job.(C) 11 Y vinieron a él todos sus hermanos y todas sus hermanas, y todos los que antes le habían conocido, y comieron con él pan en su casa, y se condolieron de él, y le consolaron de todo aquel mal que Jehová había traído sobre él; y cada uno de ellos le dio una pieza de dinero y un anillo de oro. 12 Y bendijo Jehová el postrer estado de Job más que el primero; porque tuvo catorce mil ovejas, seis mil camellos, mil yuntas de bueyes y mil asnas, 13 y tuvo siete hijos y tres hijas. 14 Llamó el nombre de la primera, Jemima, el de la segunda, Cesia, y el de la tercera, Keren-hapuc. 15 Y no había mujeres tan hermosas como las hijas de Job en toda la tierra; y les dio su padre herencia entre sus hermanos. 16 Después de esto vivió Job ciento cuarenta años, y vio a sus hijos, y a los hijos de sus hijos, hasta la cuarta generación. 17 Y murió Job viejo y lleno de días.

2 “ข้าพเจ้ารู้ว่าพระองค์สามารถทำทุกสิ่งทุกอย่างได้
และแผนการของพระองค์ไม่มีวันถูกขัดขวาง
3 พระองค์พูดว่า ‘ใครกันนี่ ที่ปิดบังแบบแผนของเราโดยขาดความรู้’
ใช่แล้ว ข้าพเจ้าแถลงถึงสิ่งต่างๆออกไปโดยไม่เข้าใจ
เป็นสิ่งลึกลับต่างๆที่ข้าพเจ้าคิดไม่ถึง
เป็นสิ่งที่ข้าพเจ้าไม่รู้
4 พระองค์พูดว่า ‘ฟังให้ดี เราจะพูด
เราจะสอบสวนเจ้า และเจ้าจะต้องตอบเรา’
5 หูข้าพเจ้าเคยได้ยินเรื่องของพระองค์
แต่ตอนนี้ตาของข้าพเจ้าได้เห็นพระองค์แล้ว

คำตัดสินของพระยาห์เวห์
7 หลังจากที่พระยาห์เวห์พูดสิ่งต่างๆเหล่านี้กับโยบแล้ว พระยาห์เวห์ก็พูดกับเอลีฟัสชาวเทมานว่า “เราโกรธเจ้าและเพื่อนทั้งสองของเจ้ายิ่งนัก เพราะพวกเจ้าไม่ได้พูดความจริงเกี่ยวกับเรา อย่างที่โยบผู้รับใช้ของเราได้พูด
8 ตอนนี้ให้พวกเจ้าเอาวัวตัวผู้เจ็ดตัวและแกะตัวผู้เจ็ดตัวไปพบโยบผู้รับใช้ของเรา ให้ถวายสัตว์เหล่านั้นเป็นเครื่องเผาบูชาสำหรับพวกเจ้าเอง แล้วโยบผู้รับใช้ของเราจะอธิษฐานให้กับพวกเจ้า เพราะเราจะยอมรับเฉพาะคำอธิษฐานของโยบเท่านั้น แล้วเราจะไม่ฉีกหน้าพวกเจ้าตามที่พวกเจ้าสมควรจะได้รับ เพราะพวกเจ้าไม่ได้พูดถึงเราอย่างถูกต้อง อย่างที่โยบผู้รับใช้ของเราได้พูด”
9 แล้วเอลีฟัสชาวเทมาน บิลดัดตระกูลชูอาห์ และโศฟาร์ชาวนาอามาห์ ก็ไปทำตามสิ่งที่พระยาห์เวห์สั่ง และพระยาห์เวห์ยอมรับคำอธิษฐานของโยบ
ชีวิตใหม่ของโยบ
10 เมื่อโยบอธิษฐานให้กับเพื่อนๆของเขา พระยาห์เวห์ทำให้โยบกลับคืนสู่สภาพดี และพระองค์ให้โยบมีมากกว่าเดิมเป็นสองเท่า
11 พี่น้องชายหญิงของท่าน และคนที่รู้จักท่านมาก่อน ต่างมาร่วมกินอาหารกับโยบที่บ้าน และต่างแสดงความเห็นอกเห็นใจโยบ พร้อมทั้งปลอบประโลมท่านในเรื่องเลวร้ายทั้งหลายที่พระยาห์เวห์เคยนำมาสู่ท่าน แต่ละคนต่างมอบเงินชิ้นหนึ่ง และแหวนทองหนึ่งวงให้กับโยบ 12 แล้วพระยาห์เวห์ได้อวยพรชีวิตบั้นปลายของเขามากกว่าชีวิตในช่วงต้น โยบมีแกะและแพะหนึ่งหมื่นสี่พันตัว อูฐหกพันตัว วัวหนึ่งพันคู่ และลาตัวเมียหนึ่งพันตัว 13 ท่านมีลูกชายเจ็ดคน และลูกสาวสามคน 14 ท่านตั้งชื่อลูกสาวคนแรกว่า เยมีมาห์ คนที่สองชื่อว่า เคสิยาห์ ส่วนคนที่สามชื่อว่า เคเรนหัปปุค
15 ไม่มีสาวใดทั่วแผ่นดินที่สวยเท่ากับลูกสาวของโยบ พ่อของพวกเธอได้มอบมรดกให้กับพวกเธอพร้อมกับพวกพี่ชายน้องชายของเธอ
16 และหลังจากนั้น โยบก็มีชีวิตต่อไปอีกหนึ่งร้อยสี่สิบปี เขาได้เห็นลูกหลานไปสี่ชั่วรุ่น
17 แล้วโยบก็ตายเมื่อแก่ชรา

42 Then Job answered Jehovah, and said,
2 I know that thou canst do all things,
And that no purpose of thine can be restrained.
3 Who is this that hideth counsel without knowledge?
Therefore have I uttered that which I understood not,
Things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.
4 Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak;
I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
5 I had heard of thee by the hearing of the ear;
But now mine eye seeth thee:
6 Wherefore I [a]abhor myself,
And repent in dust and ashes.
7 And it was so, that, after Jehovah had spoken these words unto Job, Jehovah said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends; for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath. 8 Now therefore, take unto you seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt-offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you; for him will I accept, that I deal not with you after your folly; for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath. 9 So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as Jehovah commanded them: and Jehovah accepted Job.
10 And Jehovah turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: and Jehovah gave Job twice as much as he had before. 11 Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him concerning all the evil that Jehovah had brought upon him: every man also gave him a [b]piece of money, and every one a ring of gold. 12 So Jehovah blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: and he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she-asses. 13 He had also seven sons and three daughters. 14 And he called the name of the first, Jemimah; and the name of the second, Keziah; and the name of the third, Keren-happuch. 15 And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren. 16 And after this Job lived a hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons’ sons, even four generations. 17 So Job died, being old and full of days.
