⁸ So now take seven bulls and seven rams^(A) and go to my servant Job^(B) and sacrifice a burnt offering^(C) for yourselves. My servant Job will pray for you, and I will accept his prayer^(D) and not deal with you according to your folly.^(E) You have not spoken the truth about me, as my servant Job has.”^(F)

Balaam’s First Message

23 Balaam said, “Build me seven altars here, and prepare seven bulls and seven rams^(A) for me.”

¹⁶ Therefore confess your sins^(A) to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.^(B) The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.^(C)

²⁶ Because God had helped the Levites who were carrying the ark of the covenant of the Lord, seven bulls and seven rams^(A) were sacrificed.

¹⁴ even if these three men—Noah,^(A) Daniel^[a](B) and Job^(C)—were in it, they could save only themselves by their righteousness,^(D) declares the Sovereign Lord.

¹⁷ Then Abraham prayed to God,^(A) and God healed Abimelek, his wife and his female slaves so they could have children again,

¹⁴ Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders^(A) of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil^(B) in the name of the Lord.
