⁸ Now therefore take ^(A)seven bulls and seven rams and go to my servant Job and ^(B)offer up a burnt offering for yourselves. And my servant Job shall ^(C)pray for you, for I will accept his prayer not to deal with you according to your folly. For you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has.”

Balaam's First Oracle

23 And Balaam said to Balak, ^(A)“Build for me here seven altars, and prepare for me here seven bulls and seven rams.”

²⁶ And because God helped the Levites who were carrying the ark of the covenant of the Lord, they sacrificed ^(A)seven bulls and seven rams.

¹⁶ Therefore, ^(A)confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, ^(B)that you may be healed. ^(C)The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.^[a]

⁵ And when the days of the feast had run their course, Job would send and ^(A)consecrate them, and he would rise early in the morning and ^(B)offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, “It may be that my children have sinned, and ^(C)cursed^[a] God in their hearts.” Thus Job did continually.

¹⁶ If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and ^(A)God^[a] will give him life—to those who commit sins that do not lead to death. ^(B)There is sin that leads to death; ^(C)I do not say that one should pray for that.

^14 (A)even if these three men, ^(B)Noah, ^(C)Daniel, and ^(D)Job, were in it, ^(E)they would deliver but their own lives by their righteousness, declares the Lord God.

^9 (A)So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went and did what the Lord had told them, and the Lord accepted Job's prayer.
