The Lord Rebukes Job's Friends

⁷ After the Lord had spoken these words to Job, the Lord said to Eliphaz ^(A)the Temanite: “My anger burns against you and against your two friends, for you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has.

² Then Elihu the son of Barachel ^(A)the Buzite, of the family of Ram, burned with anger. He burned with anger at Job because he justified himself ^(B)rather than God. ³ He burned with anger also at Job's three friends because they had found no answer, although they had ^(C)declared Job to be in the wrong.

Eliphaz Speaks: The Innocent Prosper

4 Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said:

Job's Three Friends

¹¹ Now when Job's three ^(A)friends heard of all this evil that had come upon him, they came each from his own place, Eliphaz ^(B)the Temanite, Bildad ^(C)the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite. They made an appointment together to come to ^(D)show him sympathy and comfort him.

⁵ And when Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of these three men, he burned with anger.

Zophar Speaks: You Deserve Worse

11 Then ^(A)Zophar the Naamathite answered and said:
