¹¹ Then all his brothers, sisters, and former friends came and feasted with him in his home. And they consoled him and comforted him because of all the trials the Lord had brought against him. And each of them brought him a gift of money^[a] and a gold ring.

Job’s Three Friends Share His Anguish

¹¹ When three of Job’s friends heard of the tragedy he had suffered, they got together and traveled from their homes to comfort and console him. Their names were Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite.

²² Then at last, when the camels had finished drinking, he took out a gold ring for her nose and two large gold bracelets^[a] for her wrists.

¹² So take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees.

³ Remember those in prison, as if you were there yourself. Remember also those being mistreated, as if you felt their pain in your own bodies.

²⁶ If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it, and if one part is honored, all the parts are glad.

¹⁵ Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep.
