Mountain goat and doe
39 Do you know when mountain goats give birth;
do you observe the birthing of does?
2 Can you count the months of pregnancy;
do you know when they give birth?
3 They crouch, split open for their young,
send forth their offspring.
4 Their young are healthy; they grow up in the open country,
leave and never return.
Wild donkey
5 Who freed the wild donkey,
loosed the ropes of the onager
6 to whom I gave the desert as home,
his dwelling place in the salt flats?
7 He laughs at the clamor of the town,
doesn’t hear the driver’s shout,
8 searches the hills for food
and seeks any green sprout.
Wild ox
9 Will the wild ox agree to be your slave,
or will it spend the night in your crib?
10 Can you bind it with a rope to a plowed row;
will it plow the valley behind you?
11 Will you trust it because its strength is great
so that you can leave your work to it?
12 Can you rely on it to bring back your grain
to gather into your threshing floor?
Ostrich
13 The ostrich’s wings flap joyously,
but her wings and plumage are like a stork.
14 She leaves her eggs on the earth,
lets them warm in the dust,
15 then forgets that a foot may crush them
or a wild animal trample them.
16 She treats her young harshly as if they were not hers,
without worrying that her labor might be in vain;
17 God didn’t endow her with sense,
didn’t give her some good sense.
18 When she flaps her wings high,
she laughs at horse and rider.
Horse
19 Did you give strength to the horse,
clothe his neck with a mane,
20 cause him to leap like a locust,
his majestic snorting, a fright?
21 He[a] paws in the valley, prances proudly,
charges at battle weapons,
22 laughs at fear, unafraid.
He doesn’t turn away from the sword;
23 a quiver of arrows flies by him,
flashing spear and dagger.
24 Excitedly, trembling, he swallows the ground;
can’t stand still at a trumpet’s blast.
25 At a trumpet’s sound, he says, “Aha!”
smells the battle from afar,
hears[b] officers’ shouting and the battle cry.
Hawk and eagle
26 Is it due to your understanding that the hawk flies,
spreading its wings to the south?
27 Or at your command does the eagle soar,
the vulture build a nest on high?
28 They dwell on an outcropping of rock,
their fortress on rock’s edge.
29 From there they search for food;
their eyes notice it from afar,
30 and their young lap up blood;
where carcasses lie, there they are.

39 “ଆୟୁବ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣିଛ କି କେତେବେଳେ ପାହାଡ଼ୀ ଛେଳି ଜନ୍ମଗ୍ରହଣ କରେ?
ତୁମ୍ଭେ କେବେ ଦେଖିଛ କି ମା’ ହରିଣକୁ ତା'ର ଛୁଆ ଦେବାର?
2 ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଏ କଥା ଜାଣିଛ କି କେତେ ମାସ ପାହାଡ଼ୀ ଛେଳି ଓ ହରିଣ ଶାବକର ଗର୍ଭମାସ ଧାରଣର କ୍ଷମତା?
ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣ କି କେତେବେଳେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଜନ୍ମ ହେବାର ଉପଯୁକ୍ତ ସମୟ?
3 ସେହି ପଶୁମାନେ ପଡ଼ିରହି ଗର୍ଭ ଯନ୍ତ୍ରଣା ଭୋଗକରି
ତା'ର ପିଲାମାନଙ୍କୁ ଜନ୍ମ ଦିଅନ୍ତି।
4 ସେହି ପଶୁ ଛୁଆମାନେ କ୍ଷେତରେ ବଡ଼ ସବଳ ହୋଇଯା’ନ୍ତି।
ତା'ପରେ ସେମାନେ ମା’କୁ ଛାଡ଼ି ଗ୍ଭଲିଯାଆନ୍ତି, ଆଉ ଫେରନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ।
5 “ଆୟୁବ, କିଏ ବଣୁଆ ଗଧକୁ ଛାଡ଼ିଦିଅନ୍ତି?
ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଦଉଡ଼ିସବୁ ଫିଟାନ୍ତି ଏବଂ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଛାଡ଼ିଦିଅନ୍ତି।
6 ମୁଁ ସେହି ବଣୁଆ ଗଧ ପାଇଁ ମରୁଭୂମିକୁ ତା'ର ବାସସ୍ଥାନ କରିଛି।
ମୁଁ ସେହି ଲୁଣିଆ ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ବ୍ୟବହାର ପାଇଁ ଛାଡ଼ି ଦେଇଛି।
7 ବଣୁଆ ଗଧମାନେ ନଗରର କୋଳାହଳକୁ ତୁଚ୍ଛ କରନ୍ତି।
କେହି ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ନିୟନ୍ତ୍ରଣ କରି ପାରିବେ ନାହିଁ।
8 ବଣୁଆ ଗଧମାନେ ପାହାଡ଼ରେ ବାସ କରନ୍ତି,
ତାହା ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଚରିବା ସ୍ଥାନ।
ସେହି ସ୍ଥାନରେ ସେମାନେ ତାଙ୍କର ଖାଦ୍ୟ ଅନୁସନ୍ଧାନ କରନ୍ତି।
9 “ଆୟୁବ, ଗୋଟିଏ ବଣୁଆ ଷଣ୍ଢ ତୁମ୍ଭ କଥାରେ ରାଜି ହୋଇ ତୁମ୍ଭ କାମ କରିବ କି?
ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଗୁହାଳରେ ରହିବ କି?
10 ଗୋଟିଏ ବଣୁଆ ଷଣ୍ଢକୁ ଦଉଡ଼ିରେ ବାନ୍ଧି ଦେବ କି,
ଯଦ୍ଦ୍ୱାରା ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ଭୂମି ଗ୍ଭଷ କରିବ?
11 ବଣୁଆ ଷଣ୍ଢ ଅତି ବଳଶାଳୀ।
ତୁମ୍ଭେ କ’ଣ ତା’ ଉପରେ ନିର୍ଭର କରି ପାରିବ ତୁମ୍ଭ କାମ କରିବା ପାଇଁ?
12 ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତା’ ଉପରେ ନିର୍ଭର କରି ପାରିବ କି?
ତୁମ୍ଭର ଶସ୍ୟଅମଳ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଶସ୍ୟସବୁ ଖଳାକୁ ଆଣିବାକୁ?
13 “ଓଟ ପକ୍ଷୀ ଉତ୍ତେଜନାରେ ଡେଣା ହଲାଏ କିନ୍ତୁ ଏହା ଉଡ଼ିପାରିବ ନାହିଁ।
ଏହାର ଡେଣା ବଗ ପରି ନୁହେଁ।
14 ଓଟ ପକ୍ଷୀ ଭୂମିରେ ଅଣ୍ଡା ଦିଏ
ଏବଂ ସେମାନେ ବାଲିରେ ଉଷ୍ଣ ହୁଅନ୍ତି।
15 ଓଟ ପକ୍ଷୀ ଭୁଲିଯାଏ ହୁଏତ ତା'ର ଅଣ୍ଡା ଉପରେ କିଏ ଚଢ଼ିଯିବ
କିମ୍ବା କୌଣସି ବଣୁଆ ଜନ୍ତୁ ତା'ର ଅଣ୍ଡାକୁ ଭାଙ୍ଗି ଦେବ।
16 ଓଟପକ୍ଷୀ ତା'ର ଶାବକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଛାଡ଼ିକି ଯାଏ।
ସେ ତା'ର ଶାବକମାନଙ୍କୁ ନିଜର ଛୁଆ ପରି ବ୍ୟବହାର କରେ ନାହିଁ।
ତା'ର ଛୁଆ ମରିଗଲେ ସେ ଖାତିରି କରେ ନାହିଁ, ଯେପରି ସମସ୍ତ କାମ କିଛି ହେଲା ନାହିଁ।
17 କାରଣ ମୁଁ ସେହି ଓଟପକ୍ଷୀକୁ ଜ୍ଞାନ ଦେଇ ନାହିଁ।
ସେହି ଓଟ ପକ୍ଷୀ ନିର୍ବୋଧ।
ମୁଁ ମଧ୍ୟ ତାକୁ ସେପରି କରିଛି।
18 କିନ୍ତୁ ସେହି ଓଟପକ୍ଷୀ ଠିଆ ହୁଏ ଦୌଡ଼ିବାକୁ ଆରମ୍ଭ କରେ।
ସେ ଘୋଡ଼ା ଓ ତା'ର ସବାରୀକୁ ଦେଖି ହସି ପଳାଏ।
କାରଣ ସେ କୌଣସି ଘୋଡ଼ାଠାରୁ ଅଧିକ ବେଗରେ ଦୌଡ଼ିପାରେ ନାହିଁ।
19 “ଆୟୁବ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସେହି ଘୋଡ଼ାକୁ ଶକ୍ତି ଦେଇଛ କି?
ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଘୋଡ଼ାର ବେକରେ ବଳା ଲଗାଇଛ କି?
20 ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସେହି ଘୋଡ଼ାକୁ ପତଙ୍ଗପରି କୁଦିବାର ଶକ୍ତି ଦେଇଅଛ କି?
ସେହି ଘୋଡ଼ା ଲୋକ ଦେଖିଲେ ବଡ଼ ପାଟିରେ ରବ କରେ।
21 ଘୋଡ଼ାଟି ଶକ୍ତିଶାଳୀ ଥିବାରୁ ଖୁସୀଥାଏ।
ସେ ଭୂମିରେ ତା'ର ଖୁରା ଦ୍ୱାରା ରାମ୍ପୁଡ଼ି ପକାଏ।
ସେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ କ୍ଷେତ୍ରରେ ଖୁବ ଜୋର୍ରେ ଦୌଡ଼ିପାରେ।
22 ଘୋଡ଼ା ଭୟରେ ହସେ।
ସେ ଭୟଭୀତ ନୁହେଁ, ସେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ ଭୂମିରୁ ପଳାୟନ କରିବ ନାହିଁ।
23 ଯୋଦ୍ଧା ଘୋଡ଼ା ପିଠିରେ ବସି ତୂଣିର ବାନ୍ଧି ଥାଏ।
ବର୍ଚ୍ଛା, ଢାଲ ଆଦି ଅସ୍ତ୍ରଶସ୍ତ୍ର ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟ କିରଣରେ ଝଲମଲ କରୁଥାଏ।
24 ଘୋଡ଼ା ଅତ୍ୟଧିକ ଉତ୍ତେଜିତ ହୁଏ।
ସେ ଭୂମି ଉପରେ ଖୁବ୍ ଜୋର୍ରେ ଦୌଡ଼େ।
ସେ ତୂରୀ ଶବ୍ଦ ଶୁଣି ସ୍ଥିର ହୋଇ ଠିଆ ହୋଇ ରହିପାରେ ନାହିଁ।
25 ଯେତେବେଳେ ତୂରୀ ଆଦି ବାଦ୍ୟ ଶୁଣେ ଘୋଡ଼ା ମଧ୍ୟ ପାଟିକରେ ‘ହୁରେ!’
ସେ ଦୂରରୁ ଯୁଦ୍ଧର ବାସନା
ଓ ସେନାପତିମାନଙ୍କର ହୁଙ୍କାର ଜାଣି ପାରେ।
26 “ଆୟୁବ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଉତ୍କ୍ରୋଶପକ୍ଷୀକୁ ଉଡ଼ାଇବା ଶିଖାଇଛ କି?
ତାକୁ ତା'ର ଡେଣା କିପରି ମେଲାଇ ଦକ୍ଷିଣ ଦିଗକୁ ଉଡ଼ିବାକୁ ଶିଖାଇଚ କି?
27 ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସେହି ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି କି ଯିଏ ଉତ୍କ୍ରୋଶପକ୍ଷୀକୁ ଆକାଶର ଖୁବ୍ ଉଚ୍ଚରେ ଉଡ଼ିବା ପାଇଁ କହିଛ।
ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତାକୁ ଉଚ୍ଚ ପର୍ବତରେ ବସା ବାନ୍ଧିବାକୁ କହିଛ କି?
28 ଉତ୍କ୍ରୋଶପକ୍ଷୀ ପର୍ବତର ଢାଲୁତଟରେ ବାସ କରେ।
ପର୍ବତର ଢାଲୁତଟ ହେଉଛି ତା'ର ଦୁର୍ଗ।
29 ଉତ୍କ୍ରୋଶପକ୍ଷୀ ତା'ର ଶିକାରକୁ ଦୂର ବସାରୁ ଦେଖି ପାରେ।
ସେ ବହୁତ ଦୂରରୁ ତା’ ଖାଦ୍ୟ ଦେଖି ପାରେ।
30 ଉତ୍କ୍ରୋଶପକ୍ଷୀ ଏକତ୍ରିତ ହୁଅନ୍ତି, ଯେଉଁଠାରେ ଶବସବୁ ଥାଏ।
ଏବଂ ତା'ର ଛୁଆମାନେ ମଧ୍ୟ ରକ୍ତ ଶୋଷନ୍ତି।”

God Continues to Challenge Job
39 “Do you know the time when the wild (A)mountain goats bear young?
Or can you mark when (B)the deer gives birth?
2 Can you number the months that they fulfill?
Or do you know the time when they bear young?
3 They bow down,
They bring forth their young,
They deliver their [a]offspring.
4 Their young ones are healthy,
They grow strong with grain;
They depart and do not return to them.
5 “Who set the wild donkey free?
Who loosed the bonds of the [b]onager,
6 (C)Whose home I have made the wilderness,
And the [c]barren land his dwelling?
7 He scorns the tumult of the city;
He does not heed the shouts of the driver.
8 The range of the mountains is his pasture,
And he searches after (D)every green thing.
9 “Will the (E)wild ox be willing to serve you?
Will he bed by your manger?
10 Can you bind the wild ox in the furrow with ropes?
Or will he plow the valleys behind you?
11 Will you trust him because his strength is great?
Or will you leave your labor to him?
12 Will you trust him to bring home your [d]grain,
And gather it to your threshing floor?
13 “The wings of the ostrich wave proudly,
But are her wings and pinions like the kindly stork’s?
14 For she leaves her eggs on the ground,
And warms them in the dust;
15 She forgets that a foot may crush them,
Or that a wild beast may break them.
16 She (F)treats her young harshly, as though they were not hers;
Her labor is in vain, without [e]concern,
17 Because God deprived her of wisdom,
And did not (G)endow her with understanding.
18 When she lifts herself on high,
She scorns the horse and its rider.
19 “Have you given the horse strength?
Have you clothed his neck with [f]thunder?
20 Can you [g]frighten him like a locust?
His majestic snorting strikes terror.
21 He paws in the valley, and rejoices in his strength;
(H)He gallops into the clash of arms.
22 He mocks at fear, and is not frightened;
Nor does he turn back from the sword.
23 The quiver rattles against him,
The glittering spear and javelin.
24 He devours the distance with fierceness and rage;
Nor does he come to a halt because the trumpet has sounded.
25 At the blast of the trumpet he says, ‘Aha!’
He smells the battle from afar,
The thunder of captains and shouting.
26 “Does the hawk fly by your wisdom,
And spread its wings toward the south?
27 Does the (I)eagle mount up at your command,
And (J)make its nest on high?
28 On the rock it dwells and resides,
On the crag of the rock and the stronghold.
29 From there it spies out the prey;
Its eyes observe from afar.
30 Its young ones suck up blood;
And (K)where the slain are, there it is.”
