The Lord Reveals His Omnipotence to Job^(A)

38 Then the Lord answered Job ^(B)out of the whirlwind, and said:

^6 (A)Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said:

God’s Revelation to Elijah

¹¹ Then He said, “Go out, and stand ^(A)on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord ^(B)passed by, and ^(C)a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake;

⁴ Then I looked, and behold, ^(A)a whirlwind was coming ^(B)out of the north, a great cloud with raging fire engulfing itself; and brightness was all around it and radiating out of its midst like the color of amber, out of the midst of the fire.

God’s Works and Wisdom

¹¹ Then it happened, as they continued on and talked, that suddenly ^(A)a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, and separated the two of them; and Elijah ^(B)went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

¹⁶ Then it came to pass on the third day, in the morning, that there were ^(A)thunderings and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain; and the sound of the trumpet was very loud, so that all the people who were in the camp ^(B)trembled. ¹⁷ And ^(C)Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet with God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain. ¹⁸ Now ^(D)Mount Sinai was completely in smoke, because the Lord descended upon ^(E)it in fire. ^(F)Its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and ^[a]the ^(G)whole mountain quaked greatly. ¹⁹ And when the blast of the trumpet sounded long and became louder and louder, ^(H)Moses spoke, and ^(I)God answered him by voice.
