and shower abundantly on mankind.

²⁶ to bring rain on an uninhabited land,
on a desert with no human life,^[a]
27 to satisfy the parched wasteland
and cause the grass to sprout?^(A)
28 Does the rain have a father?
Who fathered the drops of dew?^(B)

²² Can any of the worthless idols of the nations^(A) bring rain?
Or can the skies alone give showers?
Are you not the Lord our God?
We therefore put our hope in you,^(B)
for you have done all these things.
