    judgment and justice have taken hold of you.^(B)

    so that you will not share in her sins,
    so that you will not receive any of her plagues;^(B)

³⁶ Oh, that Job might be tested to the utmost
    for answering like a wicked man!^(A)

⁸ He keeps company with evildoers;
    he associates with the wicked.^(A)

¹¹ why it is so dark^(A) you cannot see,
    and why a flood of water covers you.^(B)

⁵ But my mouth would encourage you;
    comfort^(A) from my lips would bring you relief.^(B)
