15 Men den som lider
    befriar han från lidanden,
och denne lyssnar till honom i sin nöd.

16 Han ville rädda dig ur bedrövelsens gap
    till en fri, ljuvlig plats
och duka ditt bord med feta rätter.[a]
17     Men du är fullt upptagen med den ogudaktiges dom,
dom och rättvisa håller dig i sitt grepp.

15 Genom lidandet vill han rädda den lidande, och genom betrycket vill han öppna hans öra.

16 Så sökte han ock draga dig ur nödens gap, ut på en rymlig plats, där intet trångmål rådde; och ditt bord skulle bliva fullsatt med feta rätter.

17 Men nu bär du till fullo ogudaktighetens dom; ja, dom och rättvisa hålla dig nu fast.

    to the comfort of your table(H) laden with choice food.(I)
17 But now you are laden with the judgment due the wicked;(J)
    judgment and justice have taken hold of you.(K)
