¹⁴ How much less, then, will he listen
    when you say that you do not see him,^(A)
that your case^(B) is before him
    and you must wait for him,^(C)

¹¹ When he passes me, I cannot see him;
    when he goes by, I cannot perceive him.^(A)

⁷ But as for me, I watch^(A) in hope^(B) for the Lord,
    I wait for God my Savior;
    my God will hear^(C) me.

¹⁷     no weapon forged against you will prevail,^(A)
    and you will refute^(B) every tongue that accuses you.
This is the heritage of the servants^(C) of the Lord,
    and this is their vindication^(D) from me,”
declares the Lord.

¹⁰ Who among you fears^(A) the Lord
    and obeys^(B) the word of his servant?^(C)
Let the one who walks in the dark,
    who has no light,^(D)
trust^(E) in the name of the Lord
    and rely on their God.

¹⁸ Yet the Lord longs^(A) to be gracious to you;
    therefore he will rise up to show you compassion.^(B)
For the Lord is a God of justice.^(C)
    Blessed are all who wait for him!^(D)

⁵ I thought about the former days,^(A)
    the years of long ago;
⁶ I remembered my songs in the night.
    My heart meditated and my spirit asked:

⁷ “Will the Lord reject forever?^(B)
    Will he never show his favor^(C) again?
⁸ Has his unfailing love^(D) vanished forever?
    Has his promise^(E) failed for all time?
⁹ Has God forgotten to be merciful?^(F)
    Has he in anger withheld his compassion?^(G)”

¹⁰ Then I thought, “To this I will appeal:
    the years when the Most High stretched out his right hand.^(H)
