Job 34:5-9
New American Standard Bible
5 For Job has said, ‘(A)I am righteous,
But (B)God has taken away my right;
6 [a]Should I lie about my right?
My [b](C)wound is incurable, though I am without wrongdoing.’
7 What man is like Job,
Who (D)drinks up derision like water,
8 Who goes (E)in company with the workers of injustice,
And walks with wicked people?
9 For he has said, ‘(F)It is of no use to a man
When he becomes friends with God.’
Job 34:5-9
Lexham English Bible
5 for Job has said, ‘I am righteous,
but God has taken away my justice.
6 Should I lie concerning my justice?
Though I am without transgression, my wound caused by an arrow is incurable.’
7 What man is like Job,
who drinks scorn like water?
8 And he goes on the road in company with instigators of mischief,
and walks with men of wickedness.
9 Indeed, he says, ‘A man does not profit
when he takes delight in God.’
