Job 33:8-13
Christian Standard Bible
8 Surely you have spoken in my hearing,
and I have heard these very[a] words:
9 “I am pure, without transgression;
I am clean and have no iniquity.(A)
10 But he finds reasons to oppose me;
he regards me as his enemy.(B)
11 He puts my feet in the stocks;
he stands watch(C) over all my paths.”
12 But I tell you that you are wrong in this matter,
since God is greater than man.(D)
13 Why do you take(E) him to court
for not answering anything a person asks?[b]
Job 33:8-13
English Standard Version
8 “Surely you have spoken in my ears,
and I have heard the sound of your words.
9 You say, ‘I am (A)pure, without (B)transgression;
I am clean, and there is no iniquity in me.
10 Behold, he finds occasions against me,
he (C)counts me as his enemy,
11 he (D)puts my feet in the stocks
and (E)watches all my paths.’
12 “Behold, in this you are not right. I will answer you,
for God is greater than man.
13 Why do you (F)contend against him,
saying, ‘He (G)will answer none of man's[a] words’?[b]
