^9 (A)The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise ^(B)as some count slowness, but ^(C)is patient toward you,^{[a] (D)}not wishing that any should perish, but ^(E)that all should reach repentance.

¹⁵ And count ^(A)the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as ^(B)our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you ^(C)according to the wisdom given him,

⁴ Or do you presume on ^(A)the riches of his kindness and ^(B)forbearance and ^(C)patience, ^(D)not knowing that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?

²⁷ When the jailer woke and saw that the prison doors were open, he drew his sword and ^(A)was about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped. ²⁸ But Paul cried with a loud voice, “Do not harm yourself, for we are all here.” ²⁹ And the jailer^[a] called for lights and rushed in, and trembling with fear he ^(B)fell down before Paul and Silas. ³⁰ Then he brought them out and said, “Sirs, ^(C)what must I do to be ^(D)saved?” ³¹ And they said, ^(E)“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you ^(F)and your household.” ³² And they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. ³³ And he took them ^(G)the same hour of the night and washed their wounds; and he ^(H)was baptized at once, he and all his family.
