Job 31:9-12
Holman Christian Standard Bible
9 If my heart has been seduced by my neighbor’s wife
or I have lurked at his door,
10 let my own wife grind grain for another man,
and let other men sleep with[a] her.
11 For that would be a disgrace;
it would be a crime deserving punishment.[b](A)
12 For it is a fire that consumes down to Abaddon;
it would destroy my entire harvest.(B)
Job 31:9-12
International Standard Version
No Adultery
9 “If my heart has been seduced by a woman
and I’ve laid in wait at my friend’s door,
10 then let my wife cook[a] for another person
and may someone else sleep with her,
11 because something as lascivious as that
is an iniquity that should be judged.
12 The fires of Abaddon[b] will burn,[c]
disrupting every part of my eternal reward.”[d]
