Job 30:20-26
Legacy Standard Bible
20 I (A)cry out to You for help, but You do not answer me;
I stand up, and You carefully consider how to be against me.
21 You have [a]become cruel to me;
With the might of Your hand You (B)hunted me down.
22 You (C)lift me up to the wind and cause me to ride;
And You melt me away in a storm.
23 For I know that You (D)will bring me to death
And to the (E)house of meeting for all living.
24 “Yet does not one in a heap of ruins stretch out his hand,
Or, in his upheaval, is there a (F)cry for help because of them?
25 Have I not (G)wept for the [b]one whose life is hard?
Was not my soul grieved for (H)the needy?
26 When I (I)hoped for good, then evil came;
When I waited for light, (J)then thick darkness came.
Job 30:20-26
Revised Standard Version
20 I cry to thee and thou dost not answer me;
I stand, and thou dost not[a] heed me.
21 Thou hast turned cruel to me;
with the might of thy hand thou dost persecute me.
22 Thou liftest me up on the wind, thou makest me ride on it,
and thou tossest me about in the roar of the storm.
23 Yea, I know that thou wilt bring me to death,
and to the house appointed for all living.
24 “Yet does not one in a heap of ruins stretch out his hand,
and in his disaster cry for help?[b]
25 Did not I weep for him whose day was hard?
Was not my soul grieved for the poor?
26 But when I looked for good, evil came;
and when I waited for light, darkness came.
