¹⁸ Therefore this is what the Lord says about Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah:

²¹ He says, ‘I am going to bring disaster on you. I will wipe out your descendants and cut off from Ahab every last male^(A) in Israel—slave or free.^{[a](B) 22} I will make your house^(C) like that of Jeroboam son of Nebat and that of Baasha son of Ahijah, because you have aroused my anger and have caused Israel to sin.’^(D)

²³ “And also concerning Jezebel the Lord says: ‘Dogs^(E) will devour Jezebel by the wall of^[b] Jezreel.’

²⁴ “Dogs^(F) will eat those belonging to Ahab who die in the city, and the birds^(G) will feed on those who die in the country.”

³ So I am about to wipe out Baasha^(A) and his house,^(B) and I will make your house like that of Jeroboam son of Nebat. ⁴ Dogs^(C) will eat those belonging to Baasha who die in the city, and birds^(D) will feed on those who die in the country.”

¹⁰ “‘Because of this, I am going to bring disaster^(A) on the house of Jeroboam. I will cut off from Jeroboam every last male in Israel—slave or free.^[a](B) I will burn up the house of Jeroboam as one burns dung, until it is all gone.^{(C) 11} Dogs^(D) will eat those belonging to Jeroboam who die in the city, and the birds^(E) will feed on those who die in the country. The Lord has spoken!’
