26 Entonces Job respondió:
2 «Qué buena ayuda le han dado ustedes al indefenso.
Han rescatado al débil.
3 Qué buen consejo le han dado al ignorante.
Ustedes derrochan sabiduría hasta por los codos.
4 ¿Quién les ayudó a decir todo eso?
¿Qué espíritu les inspiró esas palabras?
5 »Se estremecen en las profundidades los espíritus de los muertos[a],
los que habitan debajo de los mares.
6 Ante Dios, el lugar de los muertos está al descubierto.
El lugar de destrucción[b] no puede ocultársele.
7 Él extiende el cielo[c] sobre espacio vacío;
cuelga la tierra sobre nada.
8 Él encierra las aguas en nubes densas,
y el peso de ellas no revienta la nube.
9 Nadie ve el trono de Dios;
lo cubre una nube espesa y oscura.
10 Él trazó un círculo límite sobre la faz de las aguas,
en la frontera entre la luz y la oscuridad.
11 Los pilares del cielo tiemblan
cuando Dios los amenaza.
12 El poder de Dios hace que el mar se calme.
Con su habilidad descuartizó a Rahab.
13 Un soplo de Dios hizo aclarar los cielos.
Su mano descuartizó a la serpiente voladora.
14 Y esto es tan sólo una muestra de lo que Dios puede hacer.

26 Then Job replied:
2 “How you have helped the powerless!(A)
How you have saved the arm that is feeble!(B)
3 What advice you have offered to one without wisdom!
And what great insight(C) you have displayed!
4 Who has helped you utter these words?
And whose spirit spoke from your mouth?(D)
5 “The dead are in deep anguish,(E)
those beneath the waters and all that live in them.
6 The realm of the dead(F) is naked before God;
Destruction[a](G) lies uncovered.(H)
7 He spreads out the northern skies(I) over empty space;
he suspends the earth over nothing.(J)
8 He wraps up the waters(K) in his clouds,(L)
yet the clouds do not burst under their weight.
9 He covers the face of the full moon,
spreading his clouds(M) over it.
10 He marks out the horizon on the face of the waters(N)
for a boundary between light and darkness.(O)
11 The pillars of the heavens quake,(P)
aghast at his rebuke.
12 By his power he churned up the sea;(Q)
by his wisdom(R) he cut Rahab(S) to pieces.
13 By his breath the skies(T) became fair;
his hand pierced the gliding serpent.(U)
14 And these are but the outer fringe of his works;
how faint the whisper(V) we hear of him!(W)
Who then can understand the thunder of his power?”(X)

26 But Job answered and said:
2 “How have you helped him who is without power?
How have you saved the arm that has no strength?
3 How have you counseled one who has no wisdom?
And how have you declared sound advice to many?
4 To whom have you uttered words?
And whose spirit came from you?
5 “The dead tremble,
Those under the waters and those inhabiting them.
6 (A)Sheol is naked before Him,
And Destruction has no covering.
7 (B)He stretches out the north over empty space;
He hangs the earth on nothing.
8 (C)He binds up the water in His thick clouds,
Yet the clouds [a]are not broken under it.
9 He covers the face of His throne,
And spreads His cloud over it.
10 (D)He drew a circular horizon on the face of the waters,
At the boundary of light and darkness.
11 The pillars of heaven tremble,
And are [b]astonished at His rebuke.
12 (E)He stirs up the sea with His power,
And by His understanding He breaks up [c]the storm.
13 (F)By His Spirit He adorned the heavens;
His hand pierced (G)the fleeing serpent.
14 Indeed these are the mere edges of His ways,
And how small a whisper we hear of Him!
But the thunder of His power who can understand?”

Job replies to Bildad[a]
26 Then Job replied. This is what he said:
2 ‘Do not think that you have helped me,
a weak and helpless man.
Nothing that you have said makes me feel stronger.
3 What good advice have you given me
to make me wise?
You have not really shown me how clever you are!
4 Someone must have helped you to say these wise words.
Who has put all these thoughts in your minds?
5 Dead people shake with fear.
They are under the deep waters.
6 God sees everything that happens
in the place of dead people.
Nothing can hide that terrible place from him.
7 He puts the skies in their place in the north,
so that they cover empty space.
He hangs the earth in the skies
and it stays there.
8 He fills the clouds with water.
They become heavy but they do not break.
9 When the moon is big and round, he hides it.
He causes clouds to cover it.
10 He marks the border between the sea and the sky.
It is the place where the night finishes and the day begins.
11 When God is angry,
he shouts at the pillars under the sky.
When they hear his command,
they shake with fear.
12 He used his power to control the sea.
He used his wisdom to destroy Rahab,
the great sea monster.
13 He used his breath to make the sky become bright.
With his hand he cut the great sea snake
as it ran away.
14 These are only a few of the things that God does.
We only know about a few small things.
If he used all of his power,
we could never understand.’

26 Entonces respondió Job, y dijo:

3 ¡Qué consejos has dado al que no tiene sabiduría,
y qué útil conocimiento has dado[b] en abundancia!
4 ¿A quién has proferido palabras,
y de quién es el espíritu que habló en[c] ti?
5 Las sombras[d](C) tiemblan
bajo las aguas y sus habitantes.
6 (D)Desnudo está el Seol[e] ante Él,
y el Abadón[f](E) no tiene cobertura.
7 Él extiende el norte(F) sobre el vacío,
y cuelga la tierra sobre la nada.
8 Envuelve las aguas en sus nubes(G),
y la nube no se rompe bajo ellas.
9 Oscurece[g] la faz de la luna llena[h],
y extiende sobre ella(H) su nube.
10 Ha trazado un círculo sobre la superficie de las aguas(I),
en el límite de la luz y las tinieblas(J).
11 Las columnas del cielo tiemblan,
y se espantan ante su reprensión.
12 Al mar agitó con su poder(K),
y a Rahab(L) quebrantó con su entendimiento(M).
13 Con su soplo se limpian[i] los cielos(N);
su mano ha traspasado la serpiente huidiza(O).
14 He aquí, estos son los bordes de sus caminos;
¡y cuán leve es la palabra que de Él oímos(P)!
Pero su potente trueno, ¿quién lo puede comprender(Q)?
