26 Pero Job intervino:
2 «¡Tú sí que ayudas al débil!
¡Tú sí que salvas al que no tiene fuerza!
3 ¡Qué consejos sabes dar al ignorante!
¡Qué gran discernimiento has demostrado!
4 ¿Quién te ayudó a pronunciar tal discurso?
¿Qué espíritu ha hablado por tu boca?»
Bildad reanuda su discurso
5 «Un estremecimiento invade a los muertos,
a los que habitan debajo de las aguas.
6 Ante Dios, queda el sepulcro al descubierto;
nada hay que oculte a este destructor.
7 Dios extiende el cielo[a] sobre el vacío;
sobre la nada tiene suspendida la tierra.
8 En sus nubes envuelve las aguas,
pero las nubes no revientan con su peso.
9 Cubre la faz de la luna llena
al extender sobre ella sus nubes.
10 Dibuja el horizonte sobre la faz de las aguas
para dividir la luz de las tinieblas.
11 Aterrados por su reprensión,
tiemblan los pilares de los cielos.
12-13 Con un soplo suyo se despejan los cielos;
con su poder Dios agita el mar.
Con su sabiduría descuartizó a Rahab;
con su mano ensartó a la serpiente escurridiza.
14 ¡Y esto es solo una muestra de sus obras,[b]
un murmullo que logramos escuchar!
¿Quién podrá comprender su trueno poderoso?»

26 Then Iyov replied,
2 “What great help you bring to the powerless!
what deliverance to the arm without strength!
3 Such wonderful advice for a man lacking wisdom!
So much common sense you’ve expressed!
4 Who helped you to say these words?
Whose spirit is it, coming forth from you?
5 “The ghosts of the dead tremble
beneath the water, with its creatures.
6 Sh’ol is naked before him;
Abaddon lies uncovered.
7 He stretches the north over chaos
and suspends the earth on nothing.
8 He binds up the water in his thick clouds,
yet no cloud is torn apart by it.
9 He shuts off the view of his throne
by spreading his cloud across it.
10 He fixed a circle on the surface of the water,
defining the boundary between light and dark.
11 The pillars of heaven tremble,
aghast at his rebuke.
12 He stirs up the sea with his power,
and by his skill he strikes down Rahav.
13 With his Spirit he spreads the heavens;
his hand pierces the fleeing serpent.
14 And these are but the fringes of his ways;
how faint the echo we hear of him!
But who is able to grasp the meaning
of his thundering power?”
