26 Maar Job antwoordde:
2 Wat heb jij me weer goed geholpen!
Wat heb je me veel steun gegeven!
3 Wat heb ik veel aan jouw goede raad gehad!
Wat heb jij me wijze dingen verteld!
Daar zat ik echt op te wachten.
4 Hoe kom je aan al die wijsheid?
Van wie heb je die geleerd?
5 De doden in het dodenrijk onder de aarde beven voor God.
6 Het hele dodenrijk ligt open en bloot voor zijn ogen.
De dood kan niets voor Hem verbergen.
7 God zet de hemelkoepel neer in de leegte.
Hij heeft de aarde opgehangen aan het niets.
8 Hij verzamelt het water in wolken,
zonder dat die openscheuren.
9 Hij verbergt zijn troon met wolken,
zodat die niet te zien is.
10 Hij heeft een kring getrokken waar de hemel aan de aarde grenst.
Hij trok een grens waar het licht de duisternis raakt.
11 Als God boos wordt,
schudt de hemel op zijn fundamenten,
geschrokken over de woede van God.
12 Zijn kracht maakt de zee ruig of juist kalm.
Zijn kracht verplettert het trotse zeemonster.
13 Zijn Geest heeft de sterren aan de hemel geplaatst.
Zijn handen hebben de kronkelende zeeslang gemaakt.
14 Dit zijn maar een paar voorbeelden van alles wat Hij doet.
Wat wij weten, is maar een klein stukje van zijn macht.
Het is als een zacht gefluister van alles wat Hij kan.

Job Replies: God's Majesty Is Unsearchable
26 Then Job answered and said:
2 “How you have (A)helped him who has no power!
How you have saved (B)the arm that has no strength!
3 How you have (C)counseled him who has no wisdom,
and plentifully declared sound knowledge!
4 With whose help have you uttered words,
and whose breath (D)has come out from you?
5 The (E)dead tremble
under the waters and their inhabitants.
6 Sheol is (F)naked before God,[a]
and (G)Abaddon has no covering.
7 He (H)stretches out the north over (I)the void
and hangs the earth on nothing.
8 He (J)binds up the waters in his thick clouds,
and the cloud is not split open under them.
9 He covers the face of the full moon[b]
and (K)spreads over it his cloud.
10 He has inscribed (L)a circle on the face of the waters
at the boundary between light and darkness.
11 (M)The pillars of heaven tremble
and are astounded at his (N)rebuke.
12 By his power he (O)stilled the sea;
by his understanding he shattered (P)Rahab.
13 (Q)By his wind the heavens were made fair;
his hand pierced (R)the fleeing serpent.
14 Behold, these are but the outskirts of his (S)ways,
and how small (T)a whisper do we hear of him!

2 无 能 的 人 蒙 你 何 等 的 帮 助 ！ 膀 臂 无 力 的 人 蒙 你 何 等 的 拯 救 ！
3 无 智 慧 的 人 蒙 你 何 等 的 指 教 ！ 你 向 他 多 显 大 知 识 ！
4 你 向 谁 发 出 言 语 来 ？ 谁 的 灵 从 你 而 出 ？
5 在 大 水 和 水 族 以 下 的 阴 魂 战 兢 。
6 在 神 面 前 ， 阴 间 显 露 ； 灭 亡 也 不 得 遮 掩 。
7 神 将 北 极 铺 在 空 中 ， 将 大 地 悬 在 虚 空 ；
8 将 水 包 在 密 云 中 ， 云 却 不 破 裂 ；
9 遮 蔽 他 的 宝 座 ， 将 云 铺 在 其 上 ；
10 在 水 面 的 周 围 划 出 界 限 ， 直 到 光 明 黑 暗 的 交 界 。
11 天 的 柱 子 因 他 的 斥 责 震 动 惊 奇 。
12 他 以 能 力 搅 动 （ 或 译 ： 平 静 ） 大 海 ； 他 藉 知 识 打 伤 拉 哈 伯 ，

26 But Job answered and said,
2 How hast thou helped him that is without power? how savest thou the arm that hath no strength?
3 How hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom? and how hast thou plentifully declared the thing as it is?
4 To whom hast thou uttered words? and whose spirit came from thee?
5 Dead things are formed from under the waters, and the inhabitants thereof.
6 Hell is naked before him, and destruction hath no covering.
7 He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.
8 He bindeth up the waters in his thick clouds; and the cloud is not rent under them.
9 He holdeth back the face of his throne, and spreadeth his cloud upon it.
10 He hath compassed the waters with bounds, until the day and night come to an end.
11 The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at his reproof.
12 He divideth the sea with his power, and by his understanding he smiteth through the proud.
13 By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent.
14 Lo, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? but the thunder of his power who can understand?
