    and hangs the earth on nothing.

    and trampled the waves of the sea;

²² It is he who sits above the circle of the earth,
    and its inhabitants are ^(A)like grasshoppers;
^(B)who stretches out the heavens like a curtain,
    and spreads them like a tent to dwell in;

²     covering yourself with light as with a garment,
    ^(A)stretching out the heavens ^(B)like a tent.
³ He ^(C)lays the beams of his ^(D)chambers on the waters;
he makes ^(E)the clouds his chariot;
    he rides on ^(F)the wings of the wind;
⁴ he ^(G)makes his messengers winds,
    his ^(H)ministers ^(I)a flaming fire.

² for he has ^(A)founded it upon ^(B)the seas
    and established it upon the rivers.

²⁶ Lift up your eyes on high and see:
    who created these?
^(A)He who brings out their host by number,
    calling them all by name;
by the greatness of his might
    and because he is strong in power,
    not one is missing.

²³ Ages ago I was ^(A)set up,
    at the first, ^(B)before the beginning of the earth.
²⁴ When there were no ^(C)depths I was ^(D)brought forth,
    when there were no springs abounding with water.
²⁵ Before the mountains ^(E)had been shaped,
    ^(F)before the hills, I was brought forth,
²⁶ before he had made the earth with its fields,
    or the first of the dust of the world.
²⁷ When he ^(G)established the heavens, I was there;
    when he drew ^(H)a circle on the face of the deep,
