25 Så tog Sjuhiten Bildad til Orde og sagde: 2 "Hos ham er der Vælde og Rædsel, han skaber Fred i sin høje Bolig. 3 Er der mon Tal på hans Skarer? Mod hvem står ikke hans Baghold op? 4 Hvor kan en Mand have Ret imod Gud, hvor kan en kvindefødt være ren? 5 Selv Månen er ikke klar i hans Øjne og Stjernerne ikke rene 6 endsige en Mand, det Kryb, et Menneskebarn, den Orm!

Bildad: How Can Man Be Righteous?
25 Then (A)Bildad the Shuhite answered and said:
2 “Dominion and fear belong to Him;
He makes peace in His high places.
3 [a]Is there any number to His armies?
Upon whom does (B)His light not rise?
4 (C)How then can man be righteous before God?
Or how can he be (D)pure who is born of a woman?
5 If even the moon does not shine,
And the stars are not pure in His (E)sight,
6 How much less man, who is (F)a maggot,
And a son of man, who is a worm?”

25 Então Bildade, de Suá, respondeu:
2 “Deus é poderoso e temível;
ele impõe a paz nos céus.
3 Quem pode contar seu exército celestial?
Acaso sua luz não brilha sobre toda a terra?
4 Pode algum mortal ser inocente perante Deus?
Pode alguém nascido de mulher ser puro?
5 Deus é mais glorioso que a lua;
brilha mais que as estrelas.
6 Comparados a ele, somos larvas;
nós, mortais, não passamos de vermes”.

25 Then Bildad the Shuhite(A) replied:
2 “Dominion and awe belong to God;(B)
he establishes order in the heights of heaven.(C)
3 Can his forces be numbered?
On whom does his light not rise?(D)
4 How then can a mortal be righteous before God?
How can one born of woman be pure?(E)
5 If even the moon(F) is not bright
and the stars are not pure in his eyes,(G)
6 how much less a mortal, who is but a maggot—
a human being,(H) who is only a worm!”(I)
