Bildad’s Third Response to Job

25 Then Bildad the Shuhite replied:

²“God is powerful and dreadful.
    He enforces peace in the heavens.
³Who is able to count his heavenly army?
    Doesn’t his light shine on all the earth?
⁴How can a mortal be innocent before God?
    Can anyone born of a woman be pure?
⁵God is more glorious than the moon;
    he shines brighter than the stars.
⁶In comparison, people are maggots;
    we mortals are mere worms.”

25 书亚人比勒达回答说：

²神有治理之权，有威严可畏；他在高处施行和平。

³他的诸军岂能数算？他的光亮一发，谁不蒙照呢？

⁴这样在神面前，人怎能称义？妇人所生的怎能洁净？

⁵在神眼前，月亮也无光亮，星宿也不清洁。

⁶何况如虫的人，如蛆的世人呢！

25 Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,

²Dominion and fear are with him, he maketh peace in his high places.

³Is there any number of his armies? and upon whom doth not his light arise?

⁴How then can man be justified with God? or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?

⁵Behold even to the moon, and it shineth not; yea, the stars are not pure in his sight.

⁶How much less man, that is a worm? and the son of man, which is a worm?

⁵If even the moon does not shine,

25 Då tog Bildad från Sua till orda och sade:

²Herraväldet och fruktan tillhör Gud,
fridstiftaren i höjden.
³Kan hans skaror räknas?
Över vem går ej hans ljus upp?
⁴Hur kan då en människa vara rättfärdig inför Gud,
eller någon av kvinna född vara ren?
⁵Se, inte ens månen skiner klart,
och stjärnorna är ej rena i hans ögon.
⁶Hur mycket mindre då människan, det krypet,
människobarnet, den masken.
