24 “Why does the Almighty not set times(A) for judgment?(B)
Why must those who know him look in vain for such days?(C)
2 There are those who move boundary stones;(D)
they pasture flocks they have stolen.(E)
3 They drive away the orphan’s donkey
and take the widow’s ox in pledge.(F)
4 They thrust the needy(G) from the path
and force all the poor(H) of the land into hiding.(I)
5 Like wild donkeys(J) in the desert,
the poor go about their labor(K) of foraging food;
the wasteland(L) provides food for their children.
6 They gather fodder(M) in the fields
and glean in the vineyards(N) of the wicked.(O)
7 Lacking clothes, they spend the night naked;
they have nothing to cover themselves in the cold.(P)
8 They are drenched(Q) by mountain rains
and hug(R) the rocks for lack of shelter.(S)
9 The fatherless(T) child is snatched(U) from the breast;
the infant of the poor is seized(V) for a debt.(W)
10 Lacking clothes, they go about naked;(X)
they carry the sheaves,(Y) but still go hungry.
11 They crush olives among the terraces[a];
they tread the winepresses,(Z) yet suffer thirst.(AA)
12 The groans of the dying rise from the city,
and the souls of the wounded cry out for help.(AB)
But God charges no one with wrongdoing.(AC)
13 “There are those who rebel against the light,(AD)
who do not know its ways
or stay in its paths.(AE)
14 When daylight is gone, the murderer rises up,
kills(AF) the poor and needy,(AG)
and in the night steals forth like a thief.(AH)
15 The eye of the adulterer(AI) watches for dusk;(AJ)
he thinks, ‘No eye will see me,’(AK)
and he keeps his face concealed.
16 In the dark, thieves break into houses,(AL)
but by day they shut themselves in;
they want nothing to do with the light.(AM)
17 For all of them, midnight is their morning;
they make friends with the terrors(AN) of darkness.(AO)
18 “Yet they are foam(AP) on the surface of the water;(AQ)
their portion of the land is cursed,(AR)
so that no one goes to the vineyards.(AS)
19 As heat and drought snatch away the melted snow,(AT)
so the grave(AU) snatches away those who have sinned.
20 The womb forgets them,
the worm(AV) feasts on them;(AW)
the wicked are no longer remembered(AX)
but are broken like a tree.(AY)
21 They prey on the barren and childless woman,
and to the widow they show no kindness.(AZ)
22 But God drags away the mighty by his power;(BA)
though they become established,(BB) they have no assurance of life.(BC)
23 He may let them rest in a feeling of security,(BD)
but his eyes(BE) are on their ways.(BF)
24 For a little while they are exalted, and then they are gone;(BG)
they are brought low and gathered up like all others;(BH)
they are cut off like heads of grain.(BI)
25 “If this is not so, who can prove me false
and reduce my words to nothing?”(BJ)

24 Why, seeing times are not hidden from the Almighty, do they that know him not see his days?
2 Some remove the landmarks; they violently take away flocks, and feed thereof.
3 They drive away the ass of the fatherless, they take the widow's ox for a pledge.
4 They turn the needy out of the way: the poor of the earth hide themselves together.
5 Behold, as wild asses in the desert, go they forth to their work; rising betimes for a prey: the wilderness yieldeth food for them and for their children.
6 They reap every one his corn in the field: and they gather the vintage of the wicked.
7 They cause the naked to lodge without clothing, that they have no covering in the cold.
8 They are wet with the showers of the mountains, and embrace the rock for want of a shelter.
9 They pluck the fatherless from the breast, and take a pledge of the poor.
10 They cause him to go naked without clothing, and they take away the sheaf from the hungry;
11 Which make oil within their walls, and tread their winepresses, and suffer thirst.
12 Men groan from out of the city, and the soul of the wounded crieth out: yet God layeth not folly to them.
13 They are of those that rebel against the light; they know not the ways thereof, nor abide in the paths thereof.
14 The murderer rising with the light killeth the poor and needy, and in the night is as a thief.
15 The eye also of the adulterer waiteth for the twilight, saying, No eye shall see me: and disguiseth his face.
16 In the dark they dig through houses, which they had marked for themselves in the daytime: they know not the light.
17 For the morning is to them even as the shadow of death: if one know them, they are in the terrors of the shadow of death.
18 He is swift as the waters; their portion is cursed in the earth: he beholdeth not the way of the vineyards.
19 Drought and heat consume the snow waters: so doth the grave those which have sinned.
20 The womb shall forget him; the worm shall feed sweetly on him; he shall be no more remembered; and wickedness shall be broken as a tree.
21 He evil entreateth the barren that beareth not: and doeth not good to the widow.
22 He draweth also the mighty with his power: he riseth up, and no man is sure of life.
23 Though it be given him to be in safety, whereon he resteth; yet his eyes are upon their ways.
24 They are exalted for a little while, but are gone and brought low; they are taken out of the way as all other, and cut off as the tops of the ears of corn.
25 And if it be not so now, who will make me a liar, and make my speech nothing worth?

Nagtanong si Job tungkol sa Paghatol ng Dios
24 “Bakit hindi pa itakda ng Dios na Makapangyarihan ang kanyang paghatol sa masasamang tao? Bakit hindi makita ng mga nakakakilala sa kanya ang panahong iyon ng paghatol? 2 Nangangamkam ng lupain ang masasamang tao sa pamamagitan ng paglilipat ng muhon. Nagnanakaw sila ng mga hayop at isinasama sa sarili nilang mga hayop. 3 Ninanakaw nila ang mga asno ng mga ulila, at kinukuha nila ang baka ng biyuda bilang sangla sa utang. 4 Inaapi nila ang mga dukha kaya napipilitang magtago ang mga ito. 5 Naghahanap sila ng kanilang pagkain sa ilang na parang mga asnong-gubat, dahil wala silang ibang lugar na mapagkukunan ng pagkain para sa kanilang mga anak. 6 Namumulot sila ng mga tirang bunga sa mga bukid, pati na sa ubasan ng taong masama. 7 Sa gabiʼy natutulog silang giniginaw dahil wala silang damit o kumot man lamang. 8 Nababasa sila ng ulan sa mga kabundukan, at sumisiksik na lang sa mga siwang ng bato dahil walang masilungan.
9 “Kinukuha ng taong masasama ang anak ng biyuda at babaeng dukha bilang garantiya sa pagkakautang nila. 10 Lumalakad na walang damit ang mga dukha; tagapasan sila ng mga inaning trigo, pero silaʼy nagugutom. 11 Pumipiga sila ng mga olibo at ubas, pero sila mismo ay nauuhaw. 12 Naririnig sa lungsod ang daing ng mga nag-aagaw buhay at mga sugatang humihingi ng tulong, pero hindi ginagantihan ng Dios ang mga gumawa nito sa kanila.
13 “May mga taong kumakalaban sa liwanag. Hindi sila lumalakad sa liwanag at hindi nila ito nauunawaan. 14 Ang mga mamamatay-tao ay bumabangon ng maaga at pinapatay ang mga dukha, at sa gabi namaʼy nagnanakaw. 15 Ang mangangalunyaʼy naghihintay na dumilim para walang makakita sa kanya. Tinatakpan niya ang kanyang mukha para walang makakilala sa kanya. 16 Sa gabi, pinapasok ng mga magnanakaw ang mga bahay. Sa araw, nagtatago sila dahil umiiwas sila sa liwanag. 17 Itinuturing nilang liwanag ang dilim, dahil gusto nila ang nakakatakot na kadiliman.”

18 “Pero ang masasama ay hindi magtatagal, gaya ng bula sa tubig. Kahit na ang lupa na kanilang pag-aari ay isinumpa ng Dios. Kaya walang pumaparoon kahit sa kanilang ubasan. 19 Kung paanong ang yelo ay natutunaw at nawawala dahil sa init, ang makasalanan ay mawawala rin sa daigdig. 20 Lilimutin na sila at hindi na maaalala kahit ng kanilang ina. Lilipulin sila na parang punongkahoy na pinutol at kakainin sila ng mga uod. 21 Sapagkat hindi maganda ang pakikitungo nila sa mga babaeng baog at hindi sila nahahabag sa mga biyuda.
22 “Sa pamamagitan ng kapangyarihan ng Dios, ibabagsak niya ang mga taong makapangyarihan. Kahit na malakas sila, walang katiyakan ang buhay nila. 23 Maaaring hayaan sila ng Dios na mamuhay na walang panganib, pero binabantayan niya ang lahat ng kilos nila. 24 Maaari rin silang magtagumpay, pero sandali lang iyon dahil hindi magtatagal ay mawawala sila na parang bulaklak na nalalanta o parang uhay na ginapas.
25 “Kung hindi tama ang sinabi ko, sinong makapagpapatunay na sinungaling ako? Sino ang makapagsasabing mali ako?”
