²⁰ Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.^(A)

¹¹ Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness,^(A) but rather expose them. ¹² It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. ¹³ But everything exposed by the light^(B) becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light.

⁴³ But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming,^(A) he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into.

Treasures in Heaven^(A)

¹⁹ “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth,^(B) where moths and vermin destroy,^(C) and where thieves break in and steal.

¹² “The prince among them will put his things on his shoulder at dusk^(A) and leave, and a hole will be dug in the wall for him to go through. He will cover his face so that he cannot see the land.^(B)

⁵ While they watch, dig through the wall^(A) and take your belongings out through it. ⁶ Put them on your shoulder as they are watching and carry them out at dusk. Cover your face so that you cannot see the land, for I have made you a sign^(B) to the Israelites.”

⁷ So I did as I was commanded.^(C) During the day I brought out my things packed for exile. Then in the evening I dug through the wall with my hands. I took my belongings out at dusk, carrying them on my shoulders while they watched.
