The Uselessness of Selfish Toil

4 Then I returned and considered all the ^(A)oppression that is done under the sun:

¹⁵ and consider that ^(A)the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation—as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you,

⁴ Or do you despise ^(A)the riches of His goodness, ^(B)forbearance, and ^(C)longsuffering, ^(D)not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? ⁵ But in accordance with your hardness and your ^[a]impenitent heart ^(E)you are ^[b]treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,

^11 (A)Because the sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. ^12 (B)Though a sinner does evil a hundred times, and his days are prolonged, yet I surely know that ^(C)it will be well with those who fear God, who fear before Him.
