⁷ He said to them, ^(A)“It is not for you to know ^(B)times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority.

⁷ But by the same word ^(A)the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and ^(B)destruction of the ungodly.

⁸ But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and ^(C)a thousand years as one day.

⁶ For there is a time and a way ^(A)for everything, although man's trouble^[a] lies heavy on him. ⁷ For he ^(B)does not know what is to be, for ^(C)who can tell him how it will be?

¹⁷ I said in my heart, ^(A)God will judge the righteous and the wicked, for there is ^(B)a time for every matter and for every work.

¹⁵ which he will display ^(A)at the proper time—he who is ^(B)the blessed and only Sovereign, ^(C)the King of kings and Lord of lords,

Some Will Depart from the Faith

4 Now ^(A)the Spirit expressly says that ^(B)in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to ^(C)deceitful spirits and teachings of demons,

The Day of the Lord

5 Now concerning ^(A)the times and the seasons, brothers,^{[a] (B)}you have no need to have anything written to you.

⁵ But because of your hard and impenitent heart you are ^(A)storing up ^(B)wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God's righteous judgment will be revealed.
