Job 23:13-17

13 But He is unchangeable; who can oppose Him?
He does what He desires.(A)
14 He will certainly accomplish what He has decreed for me,
and He has many more things like these in mind.[a]
15 Therefore I am terrified(B) in His presence;
when I consider this, I am afraid of Him.
16 God has made my heart faint;(C)
the Almighty has terrified me.
17 Yet I am not destroyed[b] by the darkness,(D)
by the thick darkness that covers my face.

13 But once he has made his decision, who can change his mind?
Whatever he wants to do, he does.
14 So he will do to me whatever he has planned.
He controls my destiny.
15 No wonder I am so terrified in his presence.
When I think of it, terror grips me.
16 God has made me sick at heart;
the Almighty has terrified me.
17 Darkness is all around me;
thick, impenetrable darkness is everywhere.
